Oop Chances

Recommended Posts

The average invited for interviews is around 3.95. Last year, there were 46 invites out of 715 applicants, so it's extremely competitive, but I still think with a 3.91 it's worth a shot.

Do you know how a pre-interview score is generated? How much is based on GPA/ EC's etc?

Thank you :) do you know what the cut for GPA  OOP was last year? like is anything 3.9+ worth a shot?

3.9+ is definitely worth a shot imo, especially if you say you have pretty good ECs.

I don't think there's a cutoff per se but here are some more stats (this year's) https://www.mcgill.ca/medadmissions/applying/after-youve-applied/applicantstats2017 There's a lot of info on the McGill website regarding requirements, etc.

I am OOP as well, what would you say my chances are with a 3.99 but average to below average ECs?

(My main ECs are: 2 pubs (2nd author, 3rd author), 3 club exec roles (did them for a year each, not at the same time), Big brother & sisters type of program (3.5 years), foodbank volunteer (150ish hours over like 6 years), volunteering with a stroke patient (150ish hours over 5 years), then smaller time commitment things like tutoring, shadowing, sports (not at any competitive level or anything). I had a total of 24 spots filled on my OMSAS ABS sketch.) --> Would also really appreciate it if someone could comment on how my ECs compare to the average successful applicant's ECs...

I am currently taking physics specifically for McGill so would greatly appreciate some input on my chances.

Thats below average ECs whattttttttt???...

Terrible ECs, do you even want to be a doctor?

Not sure if this is some humble brag or trolling but your ECs are above average.
