Hello,

Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but should I be hopeful for an interview ( in this next cycle) with a wGPA of 3.96-3.97 and I work really hard on my essays and have good ECs?Basically what I am asking is, is there alot of variability year to year, in which I could do everything right, but still receive a rejection pre-interview?

I would say U of T has little variability. Everyone I expected to get an interview got one, and everyone I expected to not get one didn't. I thought I would get an interview and I did. It's fairly predictable. However, there is no guarantee for any school. Perhaps you spend dozens of hours on your essays, if it doesn't resonate with the reviewers, or your ECs don't stand out to the reviewers, there is a chance you may get 'unlucky' and get rejected.

That said, you have great stats so I wouldn't worry too much :)
