ginster
As an OOP from quebec with a wGPA of 3.9 I was planning on applying to the french stream given that it is slightly less competitive and that I speak/write it pretty fluently. I was wondering if my choice for "first language" should also be french. I am fluent in french but it is still pretty obvious that this is not my first language and dont want my application to be void by putting english as first language. any advice? justwannabeadoc
Just be honest on the application, if they find out you were dishonest that is definitely a reason for them to void your application. Perhaps someone else can comment on whether French is required to be your first language for the French stream, but I don't believe so.

I don't believe that you have to indicate french is your first language. I believe it only matters if you claim that you can speak french/english or both on the language spoken portion of the application.
Donald_Duck
Just put that you speak french as a first language, it really does not matter what you put because your french will be tested at the interview. Also, apply to all the quebec schools while youre at it... Mr Duck
SoraAde
I think it's fine, but like Mr. Duck said, if you're from Quebec and comfortable with French, 100% apply to Quebec schools.. just compare the tuition rates for Quebec med schools and Ottawa. Also you'll have an even easier time getting in
