Dr. Octavius
Hi all, I'm curious if it is frowned upon to include a volunteer entry in the ABS if it was only a single day/one time event. In my case, there is one such activity I did that really opened my eyes to healthcare accessibility barriers for those subject to poverty, so I wanted to mention it. Would this seem like padding, though? Thanks!
OldManLogan
I would include it. I had a similar activity on my ABS.
bearded frog
I think it would really depend on context. One of the things you are trying to demonstrate on ABS is commitment. I mean if you said you did 4 hours of generic volunteering probably won't help your case but if it was like a one day annual event that's different. Like if you volunteered with run for the cure or something.
m_jacob_45
I think you should include it since it seems like you learned a lot from it and it was valuable to shaping your understanding of the medical field. As long as you only have one or two things like this its perfectly fine, you just don't want these type of events making up the majority of your ECs.
