Belle_MD
Can people share their best/fav family med electives in 4th year, ones that they would really recommend - Im having a hard time choosing where to go, especially which community practices and hospitals. Im particularly interested in Toronto, Mac, Western, Queens, McGill, and Alberta. Im open to general family med, also interested in geriatrics, palliative. Thanks in advance! Birdy
I did my core family at McMaster Family Practice (its a family health team) and it was fantastic. I think it’d make a great elective.
Supernintendo Chalmers
If you're interested in palliative, the Intensive Palliative Care Unit (IPCU) in Calgary may be of interest to you! I'm not sure if it's something medical students typically get to do, but it was a really good palliative care experience.

Sisushi
If you're at all interested in full spectrum family med or rural family med, I highly recommend Petawawa under Ottawa's outreach for an elective. Best 4 weeks of my learning, amazing preceptors and you're the only student, so 5 staff teaching one student. Plus housing is supplied.
