I am turning 25 this year and I just received an acceptance. I am starting to get cold feet. Will I fit in? I see a lot of people getting in in their early 20s and I have a non-trad background. I am just nervous about fitting in and how everything will play out. Any advice or thoughts? First off, congratulations!! Second off, you'll be fine. I've met a number of students from the year ahead and they are uniformly wonderful, interesting, awesome people, across an age spread of a decade, 20-30. You will almost certainly forget about any age gaps between you and your new friends swiftly, as long as you don't dwell on it. I think you may find there will be people across a whole age range in your class as well. 25 is probably hovering around average. Average acceptance age to medical school is around 25 years old these days. You'll be just fine!! Congratulations! Looking forward to meeting you for this coming year. AVSS HDS CSM
And just to chime in..... Born in 1986, I'm 31. I may not be the oldest one in my class either, and I'm sure it won't really matter. I agree with all those above. Enjoy your school years!
