MDPLZ
Am thinking of moving to Yukon for IP. How do people who more there finance their lives? Any suggestions? Are there people looking for roommates? Am new to this. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I really wish people would stop looking at moving to remote underserved areas as a death sentence. It'll probably be a big adjustment but can a great eye-opening life experience. I know a handful of people who worked as teachers and healthcare professionals who had no intention of applying to medicine, but still moved up north to work for many years and actually enjoyed it. OP I'm not familiar with the situation up there, but I'd assume you'd be moving with a job offer in hand (which shouldn't be too hard to get?). When you get hired (or even at the interview stage, you can ask) knowing your situation your employer will probably provide leads on housing. It probably won't be cheap or easy to find, and expect food to be crazy expensive. I know that if working as a professional (healthcare, teacher) they provide a stipend on top of your wage to cover the higher cost of living. Good luck! atlindoc
The Yukon is solid, especially Whitehorse. It's just like any other city, just find a job, make a community, etc etc. It is certainly more 'remote' (~2 hour flight to Vancouver) than rural (~35k people) though.
