  4. As long as your parents stay in New Brunswick you will maintain your In province status for Dalhousie (very important). Statistically, if you can get into MAC Health Sci you have a very good chance of getting into Medicine later. It is a very hard to get into. Deciding on any other Ontario School does not really give much advantage for later med apps. As Balls' mentioned, check out the in-province requirements for Western provinces. I would go where you feel most comfortable for your Undergrad. (do apply to MAC HealthSci though)

    2Y GPA calculation

Take each course (% or letter grade) in year 3 and 4 and convert that to a GPA number. Then you average all the GPA grades.

  6. À la base, il a été admis, puis ils lui ont retiré son offre en raison "d'erreurs". Yeah right. Fuck Sherbrooke.

A few months late, but thank you very much for your post. At the moment, I'm working a job that isn't bringing me closer to becoming a doctor, but the thought is still there, looming. Your kind words mean a lot to this stranger on the other end of the keyboard. Hi Julia, Thank you, really, for your great post. I honestly did not expect anybody to read this, so it's a nice surprise. Ya know, I don't know if I've truly carved out the "why" yet. "To help people" is kind of a weak reason. Many professions help people, so what sets medicine apart? Rereading my journal entry is interest

    OMSAS Sketch

I had activities that were done only in high school and not continued into university and they accepted me. Only put down things that you think are significant to your story and show that you possess traits expected of a physician.

  10. lol ... This has nothing to do with ethics. I wouldn't lie on an application. Casper doesn't ask you to be factual with your examples, nor does it expect you to. I'm a third year med student at Mac, just about to graduate and starting residency in the summer. I've taken casper for both med school and for residency application (some programs require it now). I also marked casper for two years in a row. I am extremely familiar with it. The point of the exam as developed by McMaster and is to evaluate reasoning, not personal circumstances. The question asking you to describe a con

  11. Hey there, I was accepted last year via the graduate stream. I completed an MSc degree and had a cGPA of 3.73 (did not qualify for weighting). In terms of graduate productivity, I had two publications (1st and 2nd author) and four conference abstracts. I will try my best to provide some insight, but I do not think anyone would know the exact weighting of the academic CV compared to other components of the application, unless they were part of the admissions committee (if they were, they most likely would not be sharing it here). Also, I have not received formal feedback from admissions

  12. rmorelan is our resident angel with wisdom beyond compare. Lactic Folly is terrific too. And there are many, many others who make serious contributions like thatonekid, Cerena, thehumanmacbook and numerous others. The mods are terrific! Together, we collectively comprise this wonderful forum with the same goal. The number of posts per se does not indicate anything special.
