  1. Western's offers should be coming out in the next week or so I believe ... Is this decision (accept US offer or wait a year) only an issue if you don't get in to either of Schulich or Alberta this year? In other words - if you get accepted into Schulich (not sure if Alberta has released acceptances yet) does this problem go away? Is there any guarantee that if you wait a year and apply again you'll definitely 100% get at least one offer? I think the consideration of your parents' opinion is a highly personal / family dependent thing depending on your relationship (financial and oth
  2. I imagine it would be mostly be affiliated with universities - in particular those schools which have a dental program. Here is an example from U of T: http://www.dentistry.utoronto.ca/dental-research-institute, and one from Western: http://www.schulich.uwo.ca/dentistry/research/.
  3. From what I've seen, dental research could also expand to include materials research, and bone research in general. Also, oral disease could be researched in relation to other diseases like arthritis, where a link is hypothesized. Are you interested in doing research through dentistry?
  4. I did a lot of mock interviews to prep for my Schulich meds interview. Any thoughts on how that prep would carry over for a CDA interview? Similarities or differences?
  5. Wondering if med interview prep helps for CDA - or what kind of additional prep would be recommend for CDA?
  6. Yep, a "clear 4x6 colour photograph" must be submitted. It sounds like it should be acceptable to take it yourself and have it printed on standard 4x6 photo paper. #nofilter

  8. TIME STAMP: 10:49 Result: Invite GPA: 3.76 MCAT: 12/11/12 ECs: Diverse Year: MSc SWOMEN? : Nope
  9. Hahaha ... :/ I vote with Keratoconus that they will bump the GPA to 3.75. It's happened before, and I can't see them realistically increasing BS or VR beyond last year.
  10. I just called and they said by end of today UWO just released theirs, so maybe Queens is holding off until that's done.
  11. I'm also looking for some help on how to prep for the DAT, in particular the Reading Comprehension and the Biology Section (especially botany!). Has anyone tried "DATReady"? Any good? Is the American DAT similar to the Canadian DAT for the reading comp and bio science sections? Thanks! Any advice greatly appreciated.
  12. Hi jaste21, I believe you would have told them you were currently a student when you listed all of your education pursuits for Omsas. So as long as you have one good year, and also meet MCAT cut offs, you should be good.
