  1. thank you! no, I received it this past Tuesday (May 25) and had until today to respond.
  2. Just declined my IP offer. Stay hopeful everyone and good luck!
  3. Your international undergrad is acceptable by most schools. You'll need to get your courses evaluated by WES. Your GPA is going to be a significant hindrance though. Some schools will only look at your 2 most recent full-time years (you'll need to look those schools up but I believe Western and Dal do), so if those were significantly higher than 3.03 then your chances improve a lot. The kind of degree you have or whether you are a licensed pharmacist does not really matter. What matter more are the kind of experiences that your degree/profession have exposed you to. Interesting experience
  4. some eastern philosophers are rather adequately trained in saving tormented souls
  5. Could you elaborate on that please? how did the MCAT requirement change and did it affect your score negatively or positively?
  6. you sure they were NS IP? could they have been NB or PEI?
  7. If anyone made it to the little potluck the day before the November interviews, students from the current class mentioned that the incoming class this fall is going to have the extra 12 seats. My understanding from the news releases about the extra seats (16 seats total, 4 added last year and 12 added this year) was that they are for NS applicants in general but will be earmarked for rural applicants. Bottom line is they will be filled with NS students for sure. The point of adding seats in the first place was to deal with the NS physician shortage so I can't imagine a scenario where they will
  8. unless one's scores vary greatly from the released means, their ranking based on total score should be very similar to, if not the same as, their ranking using their zscore. i've run some examples and it's rare that someone with a lower total score (compared to another person) could be ranked higher based on their zscore. anyway, i understand if you aren't interested in sharing.. all good
  9. Reposting the above request and hoping people with scores between 70-70.9 would kindly share their scores so we can make some sense of potentially where we may rank on the wl. Thank you and best wishes to everyone!
  10. Would applicants who scored between 70-70.9 be willing to divulge their exact score? I am wondering about the spread there. I am right in the middle at 70.50 so I am curious.
  11. also curious about your stats, type of IP pool and final score if you don't mind sharing. thanks!
  12. What's a low score if you don't mind me asking? do you have any information on what scores have a chance?
  13. I am wondering about the same thing. Traditional uofc mmi is 2 mins to read the prompt and 7-8 mins to answer. If this same format follows, we'll have a maximum of 3 mmi stations here... The update on the uofc blog says we'll have 2 mins to read the prompt and simply says a fixed amount of time to answer, so unless the answer times for some questions are going to be much shorter than 7-8 mins, there's only going to be 3 questions total... quite frustrating thinking how this assessment is going to be at all representative of applicants' qualities considering the in-person mmi has many more sa
  14. I am happy to look over your essay. This is my second time applying, I haven't decided how much I'm going to change my essay from last year but I'd be happy to share mine too DM me
  15. If you choose the 10 year exclusion rule (gives you the option to do so when filling the application) they will only use grades from 2009/2010 onwards (this is if you're applying in this coming cycle of 2019/2020). If you also choose to drop your lowest year, you'll be able to drop 2009/10 grades as they are the lowest overall. Not sure if year 5 will be factored in as it only had 10 credits so maybe give them a call to confirm or scour the applicant manual for info on years with non-full course load (24 credits). Works out well for you overall I'd say regardless of whether year 5 is included
  16. Hey, I am interested too. Got an MMI interview coming up. I'll dm you my phone number.
  17. That's comforting to read.. Under App Status it says: Application submitted on 10/1/2018. So I am going to assume this means all is good...
  18. I have green marks by all the sections of my application. I just paid the fee and got confirmation email yet I still have a red mark by Payment although it says fee has been paid and received underneath. Does any one have this as well? How do I know my application has been submitted?
  19. I will happily. Would you look at mine too? I'll inbox you my email address.
  20. 59th percentile and didn't get an interview either. The cut-off score to get an interview in the last three years has been: 98.5, 99.84 and 101.04 (http://wcm.ucalgary.ca/mdprogram/admissions/reference-statistics). I got a 103.23. So I must have missed it by a hair length.
  21. Hi Jim, I live in down town Vic and I am definitely interested in getting a group together to practice. When do you expect to hear about invites?
