Hi all, I couldn't find a previous post on this. Any tips from CaRMS survivors on packing for interviews and how to efficiently pack in a carry-on? Thanks
-
Absolutely not.

As someone who has studied in both Exercise Science at Concordia and Kinesiology at McGill, I felt more prepared for medicine based on my education at Concordia! Highly recommended program

It seems like the Calgary Guide website is down. It's my favourite resource to use for studying. Does anyone have a catalogue of the images saved that they wouldn't mind sharing, or know when it'll be back online? Thanks

Hi all, I am a resident of Quebec and starting at Mac in the fall. Is there anything I need to do once I move to Ontario in terms of provincial residency, like changing my medicare card, driver's license, license plate, etc...? Or do I keep my residency status in Quebec. I'm sure I'll be back in Quebec at least once every 183 days, so I'm not worried about that rule, but I was wondering if there were any benefits to changing aka OSAP. Thanks

I saw on McGill campus that their bags have their class year embroidered on the side. Do all schools have this?

New Computer For Med School?
jmes.91 replied to jmes.91's topic in McMaster University Medical School
Thanks everyone for your help -
Hi all, I was hoping to get some advice form upper year students about computer requirements for the program. I am looking to get a new computer for school. Not a huge fan of the Surface and I really love my Mac right now. Would I be okay with a Mac or are there PC-only programs? Any special processing or storage requirements? Thanks!

If you get any info on this, coffeeplz, would you mind posting it? I'm also from Quebec and am curious about this process. AFE sucks! Glad to know there's another Queber in 2019! -
Help For Prereq Ottawa Chemistry
jmes.91 replied to mdthatmylife's topic in University of Ottawa Medical School
I was in the same situation as you. Did my Sciences DEC in CEGEP and then a B.Sc. I only took Biochemistry I (lecture + lab) at Concordia during my undergrad, and that was sufficient for UOttawa! -
Can't wait to meet you! Congrats! I ranked Waterloo second! 2:15PM was the time I got an e-mail from Wendy Edge asking if I was still interested in Mac and then she sent the offer about a half hour later!

I just got an offer to Waterloo campus!!

Varsity Sport And Applying To Med School
jmes.91 replied to MDHopeful97's topic in General Premed Discussions
I did a premed undergrad and had a competitive enough GPA to get into med school, while playing varsity hockey for four years. I totally agree with the post above; the skills you will get from your sports (commitment, time management, dedication), will help you effectively manage both. When I am busier, I am calmer and able to tackle more because I set my schedule and give myself time for things. I believe that if you know your schedule from your course outline the first week of school, there's no excuse to miss practice to study before a midterm because you've known about your midterm for 6 w -
Est-ce qu'il y a deja un groupe Facebook pour le promo 2020 de Laval? J'ai vu celui de Sherbrooke

Accepte a Laval!! Quand j'ai fais des MEMs a McGill et Ottawa, ils nous ont dit quelqu'il faudrait faire si on est accepte (vaccins, CPR, background check...). Est-ce qu'on va recevoir cette info de Laval après qu'on accepte l'offre?

It must be. She wrote the MCAT two years ago and has mentioned in a few interviews wanted to study Med at UofC
