I was really stupid for not doing physiology so they can count the 4 recommended courses instead... I got 4.0 in the other 3 recommended courses, but sadly missing physiology. I emailed them and they said they would only use the recommended courses instead of the 7 basic sciences IF you completed all 4 of them. So I screwed up one of the first-year physics. My 7 basic science pre-req GPA is 3.95. Is this competitive? I was under the impression that everybody has 4.0 for these basic sciences?? I'm going a bit crazy regretting not having taken physiology... I didn't know about this pol

Do you guys think Accounting (B.Com) is a professional program? -
Recommended Med Application Consulting Service?
Ellennn posted a topic in General Premed Discussions
Hi guys,, Has anyone paid to get their med application reviewed? Especially the personal narrative/statements? What are some good ones? -
I have read this publication a couple of years ago, I'm kind of taking these data with a grain of salt because they are published by the CPA organizations in order to attract students. I am uncertain as to how "real" these numbers are, but from what I gather I think you have to be one of the best to earn that type of salary (300k) as a CA (or CPA now), whereas as a doctor you can be reasonably certain that 200-300k (or above depending on specialties) is the norm, even if you are not the best of the best...

I think if both worlds will yield a salary of 100k, I wouldn't want to become a doctor unless the path to become one is significantly easier. And I think I might rather earn 100k as a banker than earning less than 100k as a doctor, but then, this is far from the reality (the opposite?) Of course doctors earn a lot more, because they work for longer hours, right? My concern is that if money was my aim going into medicine, will I be disappointed?

I'm still considering medicine after undergrad, even though I will be starting an internship at an accounting firm next summer (summer after my 3rd year), which should lead me to a full-time position after I graduate. I know that I want a comfortable (maybe more than what the word means literally) style of living, 100k is a minimum to me. So I know what if I do go into medicine, it is about the money. However, I value time with my family (in China), and also my future family (spouse & kids). So I'm concerned that I won't be happy with all the money because I will have no time for my f

Should I Write The Mcat/ How Much Does Mcgill Care About Ecs?
Ellennn replied to Ellennn's topic in McGill Medical School
Hey thanks! I have decided to not write the MCAT this summer, I don't feel mentally ready to commit (not only to the rigorous study routine and the amount of content, but maybe just medicine in general). I will be busy with internship the summer after 3rd year, so if I don't get into McGill on the first try, and I would have to write the MCAT after I finish undergrad, and apply to Ontario an application cycle later... when I'm ready to commit? Really hoping that I'm making the right decision. -
I'm urgently trying to transfer my MCAT prep course http://www.princeton...ourse#!inperson I'm in Montreal and I already have the books they mailed to me. You could choose any start date. If you would like to take it somewhere else in Canada, that is fine too, I can mail you the books. Message me for more details! Sorry for advertising here. Kinda desperate..

Seriously??! -
Hi guys, I finished my second year at McGill and was planning on studying and writing the MCAT this summer, until it hit me today... Should I even spend so much time and effort to do the MCAT if I have a good enough chance for McGill Med? So the real question is, do I have a good enough chance for McGill Med? I'm an in-province student, my cGPA is currently 3.96, I would expect it to stay the same after my 3rd year, and it will certainly drop the 4th year because I'm doing some courses that are impossible to get A then. - I am a business major, with a minor in science, and my
