  1. Thank you everyone! I agree that it doesn't matter when you realized you wanted to become a doctor nor does it matter if you part-timed at Burger King, etc. It definitely builds character and improves on one's patience.
  2. Thank you to everyone who replied. I know in the end it doesn't matter because your MCAT scores and GPA are what count. I guess I was curious because no one ever talks about this topic because of it's irrelevance. Thank you thank you.
  3. Anyone I've talked to who are in med school have a pretty impressive background (not including university) with volunteer jobs, clinical research, etc. as if they already knew at age 3 they're going to be doctors. My question is has anyone who have gotten in med school here ever worked at places like McDonald's or bars? Dead serious. Thank you.
  4. Do all medical schools use pass or fail grading system? If not, which ones do? Thank you in advance.
  5. Hi, Can anyone tell me how many volunteer hours one would need on their application to look qualified/good? And from what areas would it be acceptable? Specifically hospital/clinics or general like big sister to churches to food banks kind of volunteer? Thank you in advance!
  6. Who has better training? Who has better pay? At the end of the day who's a better physician: MD or DO?
  7. What's the maximum times you can retake the MCAT? And will they be taking your highest score or the average of all you've taken?
  8. I heard MCAT will be undergoing some changes in 2015, something about making it longer and having more behavioral and psychological questions. Is it going to be harder then?
  9. Should I take a year off traveling before I endeavor surviving medical school? Or should I do it after residency? Will I even have time then?
  10. How long are they valid for when applying to a medical school in Canada? Is it 3 years? 5 years?
