  1. I haven't gotten to med yet and quite frankly might decide not to go that route. Either way, my 2nd UG is Law school. I had applied into nursing as well. Had applied into biomedical engineering too, + some other engineering. Have not applied into masters. So, what to apply in for 2nd UG? It depends on your grades. I would advise to go either into what you're passionate bout or into a field where you consider yourself naturally gifted. You didn't mention your first undergrad, but if you're like me, having done a 1st UG in biomedical sciences, learning chemical pathways may not be a pass
  2. I'm following some of the above-mentioned Caribbean med schools and they often have students matching in Canada [recently I found out that some match in internal of UofT]. They have quite impressive stats as International Students. Moreover we have a shortage of doctors in both Canada and the US. If (1) you are of an affluent background (2) time is an issue for you (3) you beleive that you won't upgrade your grades enough with starting a 2nd degree / masters. I'd say if you'd answer yes to all of the above I'd advise you to go to the Caribbean. You seem like someone who really wants to be
  3. Thanks. I emailed Sherby and they said the same thing. I think that they only take the last two years into account though in my case.
  4. Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows Ontario Med Schools policies on applicant in their 2nd UG? Is there a minimal amount of credits one needs before applying into med? Thank you in advance.
  5. Hi, I am completing an undergrad in biomed at McGill. Under refusal to Med next year I plan on starting a 2nd UG in a more competitive program, but would like to keep applying into med. What is the policy for UG applicants at this institution? Is it any different for applicants in their second UG? Which years / grades are taken into account in such application? If you can answer any of these questions I'd be very thankful. Have a good day.

  8. For McGill, I have many friends with 3.9s who didn't get into McGill, so you either need an incredible CV or incredible GPA before applying. You had some very draining first years in Uni, 2.05 (a failed class I presume). That's very hard on your mental. Give yourself room to breathe, and take an UG that is known to lead to a job: Management, Nursing, Accounting even. You will definitely do well in accounting if your more into math than health [looking at your first year grades being better than 2nd year where more bio is introduced]. Why do you want to be a doctor? If you could see in the
  9. Does anyone know if 2nd UG in McGill's Inqram school of nursing can be done within two years instead of three? Any of you applies to accelerated nursing programs in Ontario?
  10. I am looking to do the test in June, and could join the study group. Inbox me with your name and we can see if and how we can make this happen. I'm a McGill student.
  11. MD2015, it says it's from october to october, did you get to work only in the summer? Thanks.
  12. I applied for nursing next year. It's my second major. I also applied to other programs, but either way, med is my ultimate and only goal. Looking forward to push through nursing next year and get into med ASAP. My R score was in mid 31-32. In McGill BSc I did super poorly on my first year, and climbed slowly from there, though non competitive for med at all, my scores show steady increase.
  13. Where will the "old" MCAT be acceptable in the next 2-3 years? I am doing the exam this winter, and was wondering where will I be able to apply, [since I'm not applying to med school next year]. Thank you for the replies.
