  1. Hey everyone, I'm applying for OT in 2016 and I'm curious about the LOR requirement for UofA which states that one of the referee must be a "tenure-track academic (university/college professor)". In my case, I never got personally close with a professor that taught me a course but I do have one that I volunteered for that I'm sure can write a strong one. Does anyone know if this will really hurt my application since this professor cannot vouch for my academic competence at all? For additional context, I'm an OOP applicant, my sGPA will be slightly higher than 3.85 and I have de
  2. Congratulations!!! I heard that UofT gives preferences to those who come from a research background (not sure how true that is)
  3. Thank you for your uplifting insight! That's a relief to know for when I apply next year. I hope you hear some good news soon!!
  4. Wow that's pretty high! Considering they stated online that they don't do specific cut-offs. Thanks for your reply!
  5. Hey all! Does anyone have an idea of what the GPA cut-off/average was like this year? Thanks in advance!
  6. Hi everyone!! I understand how stressful this time is so I hope everyone is receiving some great news. I plan to apply to OT next year and intend to take some courses in the fall to boost my sGPA to hopefully be more competitive. I'm wondering if anyone knows how strict the requirements will be regarding what level year courses they prefer you to take? For example, I read UofA prefers 3rd/4th year courses but I'm not sure how strict they are about it. I have 1 first year course and some mandatory 2nd year courses I took that is going to be included in the sGPA calculation, so I
  7. You guys are so amazing! Thank you so much for your insight
  8. Hi, I just first wanted to thank you so much for doing this! I don't know anyone that is in a OT program so being able to ask you is going to be SO helpful- especially because I'm really hoping to go to Queens soon too! If you don't mind my asking, how competitive was your GPA? I've read that Queens is more focused on experiences/personal statement- which is thankfully in my favour. Did you find this true in your case? I'm asking because I am so worried about my low GPA. I'm applying in 2016 but I'm going to be around a cGPA of 3.1 and sGPA of ~3.6.. which I know is extremely low.
  9. Hi everyone! I'm a bit new to the forum so please bear with me if this is a redundant/obvious answer! I'm hoping to apply to all the OT schools in Ontario in 2016 (when I graduate). I messed up in one of my 3rd year course and it is seriously dragging my sGPA down. I was wondering if anyone knows how admission processing works if I decide to repeat the course? Will they just consider the new grade or will they average the two out? Thanks! I appreciate your help
