  1. I will be declining my offer. I hope that helps give more hope to those on the waitlist. Best of luck
  2. Dream come true! Just got off the waitlist. Heading to VFMP!!! I am speechless and so thankful for all the support on this site
  3. What is the deadline to respond to an offer? Do offers to waitlisters usually go out the same day or the day after?
  4. To those who have been accepted but are tuning down their offer in favour of another school, please decline at your earliest convenience. Acceptances off the waitlist are rolling, and the earlier one declines the sooner a person on the waitlist is able to receive a notification about an offer. This is especially helpful for those who were waitlisted at their preferred school and accepted to a lower ranked school. This request is an unfortunate outcome of the lack of a matching service for medical school admissions, but if you could consider others' situations that would be very helpful.

  6. Accepted Timestamp: 8:18 GPA: 3.89 VR: 10 Interview: Overall, felt pretty good, but as mentioned by others, felt that it was hard to tell how my answers were received. Very excited for this acceptance! Edit: I will be declining this offer. I hope that this news provides more hope for those on the waitlist. Best of luck.
  7. Finally got to posting this, I hope it helps future students: Result: Waitlisted Timestamp: same as waitlist timestamp GPA: ~89% MCAT: 34, balanced ECs: above average, premed ECs with additional passions Year: 4th Year UG Geography: OOP Interview: Felt decent-good about most stations, felt that ~2 stations could have been MUCH better, felt very confident about my performance on the essay. It was my first ever interview, so the nerves must have hit me. Feelings: I was really hoping on going to UBC, and specifically, Vancouver. Being waitlisted is tough. I may still have a chance to get in but
  8. Sorry, but that is false. Look at the stats of those applied v. accepted and you will see that it is just as competive from high school as it is to transfer. And you can transfer from any school with equal chance. What makes it tough is that you need to be willing to pack up everything at the school that you spent first year and move to Mac, if you choose not to do your first year at Mac.
  9. Omg this situation is exactly the same for me too! I loved that UBC video, definitely very well done and I would recommend that to watch if you haven't yet.
  10. Might be even earlier to allow those who are only waiting on UBC to plan for an MCAT rewrite, if need be. Hopefully, they do consider our situation, which would be wonderful. However, there is no benefit in speculating right now, as they have suggested.
  11. Is it possible to delay a medical school acceptance and take a 1 year masters in the meantime? Is this unheard of?
