  3. TIME STAMP: 9:01am, May 12th 2015 Interview Date: February 22, 2015 Result: Accepted! cGPA: ~3.85 wGPA: ~3.91 MCAT: 10/9/13 (re-written) ECs: PM if interested Essays: Spent a good deal of time and thought on them. Tried to be honest and true to my thoughts, had my Dad read them for grammar! 4. Many schools offer interview prep. For instance, my undergrad school offered both 1-1 interviews and a full mock MMI interview. In the MMI practise circuit, we got to take on the role of both the interviewer and candidate (different scenarios of course!) and I found it really helpful both to be put on the spot (as a candidate) and to watch others respond to scenarios/how they think (while being the interviewer). Other than that, practising with others or on your own are both great; it can be hard to get over the awkwardness of practising with friends/family, but ultimately, if it will
  5. Accepted! IP GPA: ~3.87 AA: 23, PAT: 22, RC: 28 Interview: Above Average Year: 4th year undergrad Was truly surprised to get an interview! I feel that the interviews must hold more weight than we think...!! Will likely be declining Best of luck everyone!
  6. From past years, does anyone know whether U of T will be willing to tell us our exact score (out of 35) if we contact them? Thanks!
  7. Just looking for any insights from current med students (MD or MD/PhDs) who could discuss pros/cons of taking the MD/PhD route. Please comment sharing anything you or your peers have encountered/things I should consider! Thanks! Here are a couple comments I'm thinking about to get things started: - I know in the States, people really emphasize the sacrifice associated with doing this combined program which can last up to around 9 years and therefore seem to encourage (at least from what I've seen in online forums) that one chooses MD or PhD. But in Canada, it seems like there is a gr
  8. Do you have to call the Faculty to get your relative score, or is this something they would share over email? I emailed yesterday but haven't heard back (so I'm not sure if they are busy (understandable!) or whether I need to phone them to get this information). Thanks for any clarifications! Best of luck everyone!
  9. Just curious what people's thoughts would be on living at home vs. renting, if one was attending medical school in their hometown. At present, I would be inclined to rent (single apartment) for the pre-clerkship years (1 & 2) since I would want to A.) be able to totally focus on my studies and B.) be totally immersed and involved with my class/classmates/med school experience. Does that make sense? Any pros/cons? I think I would then consider living at home during years 3 and 4 when A.) I need more moral support/encouragment (haha) B.) won't have as heavy "classroom

  11. How many places on the OOP list would you say have a good chance? And when does most of the wait list movement typically occur? May?
  12. Anyone know: - How far did the OOP list move last year? - How many people are on the OOP list? Thanks a bunch!
  13. We won't be shown the names of the interviewers or anything prior to arriving to the interview room, I'm assuming? As with the first poster for this thread, I'm also worried about knowing/being familiar with the interview team as I have quite an extensive network (albeit positive connections, I believe) at my undergrad school. I'm worried about not being sure how to handle this situation should it arise. I worry that even if I did state right away in the interview that I was familiar with one of the panel members (even if they didn't raise it), and said that I felt that a switch woul
  14. I am also interested in learning more about the format of McGill's MMIs. Specifically: 1. Do the questions posted outside the rooms identify at the top whether they are going to role-play, writing, or just discussion? I wonder because I too am unsure whether I should go into the room and begin acting or should greet the interviewers first? 2. Regarding role-play/situational questions, are we expected to stick to the prompt we read? Or is it ok/good/bad to add in some details of our own that we make up? Thanks for any help!
  15. To clarify, we just need to print a photo and bring it to the interview, right? That is, it does not need to be submitted online ahead of time or anything? Some other schools ask you to upload them, so I just wanted to check!
