  1. I would be interested in joining if there is such a group!
  2. Time Stamp: 3:14 PM Invite/reject: INVITE!!! This is my 4th app cycle!!! IP/OOP: IP SWOMEN (Y/N): N 2YGPA: 3.87 MCAT (CHEM/CARS/BIO/PSYCH): 130/128/129/129 Essays (X/8): 8/8 (re-used 2 activities) and did the personal essay (talked about being in a single parent family on social assistance) I AM SHOOK!! I am turning 27 this year, this has been such a long haul for me. I did a BSc then an accelerated BScN. I'm working as an ER nurse now. In my first year I received an interview at Mac, R post interview. Went 2 cycles with no interviews at all. I have taken t
  3. Just some anecdotal evidence. I received an interview two cycles ago with nearly identical stats, but did not receive an interview last cycle. So its definitely not out of the picture obviously. The problem is that CASPer is such a crap shoot, it is hard to rely on that to get an interview.
  4. It said the same thing last year, "end of January". That geographical status email also came out December 8 last year, whereas the one this year came out Nov 23. So if you want to read into that, maybe they will be on the ball again for interview emails, since they were so early with the geographical status. Really though it could come out any time from mid to end of January so I wouldn't stress about it too much. The email subject line is quite telling as well, mine said "Invitation to Interview".
  5. I felt like that last year, and got an interview, with average GPA and MCAT. A lot of my answers last year for the third question were like one sentence or got cut off. Don't stress about it! I don't think that will necessarily be the deciding factor in your score, the most important thing is quality of responses!
  6. I wrote last year on the date when it glitched and I was able to finish my test at 9pm after a 2pm start time. I still asked for a rewrite since I had a significant section of my test broken up. The rewrite date was in mid november and there were 2 days to pick from if I recall. EDIT: I am shocked this happened again this year. I was really really rattled about it when it happened to me. It was very stressful. I hope Mac seriously considers using a different company next year, these kinds of technical difficulties 2 years in a row is just not acceptable.
  7. I would probably say that I would offer multiple testing dates for the class. These dates would be available at the start of the term for every student to see. Students could choose to write any day that they would like, and the exams would be different for each date. After all exam dates had passed, I would analyze and/or modify the grades to ensure even distribution of marks from each test. This would allow students who weren't prepared for the first test day to have an opportunity to write at another time without having to fake illness. Yet, it would also ensure that students who wrote earl
  8. Mine were the same length and I received an interview last year with lowerish GPA and CARS. Quality over quantity. It sounds cheesy but it's true. For some questions (usually the last one), I didn't even have time to finish a thought but I always tried to state my position in the first sentence just in case.
  9. The AFMC posts the admission statistics from the previous cycle for most (if not all) schools in Canada. Thought I would share the link for anyone interested. Looks like UofT GPA stayed at 3.95, Ottawa at 3.93. Some schools post their offer declined stats which can tell you how many offers are given post-interview etc. https://www.afmc.ca/sites/default/files/documents/en/Publications/Admission_Requirements_en.pdf
  10. Also if I recall from last year, you can use your AAMC id to register? It looks like Mac isn't covering the fee for the test this year though, as it's coming up as $50 in my cart..
  11. 127 CP 128 BS and 129 PS. I applied to Queens this year with no luck, and I believe at this point I am below the cut offs for Western
  12. So I was flat out rejected post interview at Mac (my only interview) and I will for sure be applying next year but I am wondering if I should re-write the MCAT beforehand. My UG GPA is 3.76 after 3.5 years (co-op program) and CARS from last year is 128. I am worried that as more people take the new MCAT this year that 128 will not be high enough to get to the interview, esp since my GPA is not that high either. However, I really feel like I can't write the full MCAT again this year, so I am thinking if I do re-write, that I would only write CARS. Mac is really my best option at this point
  13. Wow was I the only reject?? Oh well I guess I will post for the purpose of stats Rejected Time: 8:25am GPA: 3.78 CARS: 128 Interview: Honestly I didn't think it went that poorly and I usually gauge my performance pretty accurately but I guess I was wrong. Looking back I think I felt kind of thrown into it and maybe it took too long for me to get into a good groove or whatever. I'm kinda shocked that I wasn't even thrown a waitlist but what can you do... IP 4th year UG in 5 year program This was my only interview so I'm really bummed but there's always next year.
  14. I did not get an email and I am a current undergrad... HOWEVER, I noticed a few days ago that the "Medicine" program is now on my mosaic under admissions. The status is listed as pending. Maybe that is what the email meant by "matching" to your current student data. Can anyone confirm that they see this too?
  15. This is not true! The doughnuts at Beechwood downtown St. Catharines are definitely worth mentioning on their own! I live in Niagara currently, and doughnuts are a weekly tradition. It should be a major draw to those interested in NRC
