  1. It's really hard to say....speaking from experience, I can't see it making a huge difference; I got in off the waitlist with a 3.75. If i'm not mistaken, the french stream interviews ~98 ppl for ~40 spots. If you are confident about your french and your interview skills, your odds at getting an offer post-interview with a 3.82 aren't bad. The instance at which GPA matters more is if you're waitlisted...but even then...a high GPA doesn't guarantee anything because the interview score is weighted a lot more heavily. At the end of the day I think that either decision you decide to make will
  2. Have you graduated already? Because Ottawa doesn't look at extra years that aren't part of your degree
  3. If medicine is what you really want then I'd do the extra year to increase your GPA. It can't hurt...
  4. Just got the email! Time stamp: 1:07 EST Stream: French GPA: 3.75 Interview: didn't feel good - I felt uneasy about many of my answers and didn't take a firm stance on many of the ethical scenarios. I tend to be quite hard on myself though so I guess it wasn't as bad as I thought! Good luck everyone - I had literally given up hope, especially since the French list apparently doesn't move much..and my GPA is on the low end.. but then this email rolled in. I know it's hard but keep your hopes up!

  7. Very little french waitlist movement according to these forums...
  8. Do you guys think this year was more competitive than other years? I'm just trying to gauge the sort of movement we're going to see here...I just wonder because I know that in Alberta, where the new 2015 MCAT is now mandatory, the applicant numbers shot up quite a lot. Apparently there is going to be very little movement on their waitlists, according to one of the secretaries in the U of C admissions office. I know the new mcat isn't required in Ontario for the next round of applications but I wonder if there is a similar trend across Canada
