  1. Sorry I couldn't find the answer to this question in the forums. Thanks! BK
  2. Hi, I have seen some related posts but none that answer my questions directly. I am currently working and am ~1 year since finishing my MSc. I would like to be able to apply more broadly this cycle so I am considering taking some online english courses to satisfy this requirement at Canadian schools (BC and potentially MUN). These are my specific questions: 1- Has anyone had experience taking the english courses at Athabasca? How did you find the courses? I am also considering taking online english credits from other Universities that offer it as well. Any insight or experience with th
  3. Hi! There is a lot of helpful information in the discussion thread from last year, including current students giving advice and explaining what to expect on interview day. Goodluck!
  4. Hi! I'm looking to connect with a 2T0 with questions about the new curriculum that was rolled out this year. Can you describe a typical week of yours to me? Thanks in advance! Feel free to PM me if you prefer. BK
  5. Hi! I didn't do an Ug research internship so take this with a grain of salt.. I recently completed an MSc with my supervisor who is a clinician and I have learned/noticed a few things that you may find helpful in terms of finding supervisors to work with. In general, more research opportunities exist where funding exists unfortunately. At my university, the profs/clinicians with active research funding are more likely to take on students of all levels. I'm not sure how easily this information can be obtained but often news reports of new grants pick up some of these researchers, so if a gr
  6. Hi! I wasn’t sure where to post this. I am currently a non-trad pre-med who recently just finished up a graduate degree in health services research. My question: Can physicians working at community hospitals still be somewhat involved in research? ..Is something I’ve been thinking about because I’m interested in “tougher lifestyle” surgical specialties (at this naive point in my training lol..) where my understanding is that the job market is tight. I enjoy research and my specific interests currently are in health services/patient outcomes, so I’m just wondering what the potential is for
  7. https://www.facebook.com/UTMedAdmissions/ ... "Submitting a CV and/or ISAP documentation online: there is a 48-hour turnaround time to gain access to the SAM tool to upload your documentation once you’ve completed your payment to OMSAS. As October 1st is a Saturday, the University of Toronto will accept any CV/ISAP documentation submitted using the SAM tool up to 4pm, Tuesday, October 4, 2016."
  8. My understanding is that there is no right or wrong way to include these activities. I have seen posts here online where applicants do both things you mentioned. I have opted to break apart some of my research entries this year so that I can describe in more depth (several more characters lol) the roles and lessons learned, especially if they differ for things you would be grouping together. For example, I wanted to highlight my research responsibilities for my thesis so I kept it separate from my posters. Poster presentations for me have brought other skills/roles/lessons into play that
  9. Thanks! I figured the same as well when I got to the length of time thing too. BK
  10. I didn't think about this until now, a death in my family is a personal experience i make reference to in one of my essays. This was not an item on my ABS so i didn't think about having a verifier for it. Does anyone know if I should have a verifier for this or not within the essay? Thanks in advance, BK
  11. I was wondering this as well.. Should I put my graduate school info in the 2nd spot...
  12. Hi, I'm back and forth on what to put.. I worked a job were I was paid 8 hours per week and worked 12 hours a week minimum, usually more. Should I enter the paid hours or the total hours worked? My verifier would support the total hours (including unpaid hours), but I'm not sure if I should or not. thanks in advance, BK
