  1. School interviewing at: MUN Specialty: Radiology Current interview date: Monday (3:45pm) Date would like to switch to: Earlier in the day Thank u bunches.
  2. For those of us who may have to choose between attending Memorial or Dalhousie medical schools, I was wondering if anyone could provide input on the advantages/disadvantages of going to Dal (specifically the NB campus) as opposed to MUN. Quality of education, opportunites for specialties, average living costs, and any other pertinent information would be helpful. I've already been told that the small class size of Dal NB is big plus. Thanks in advance.

  4. I don't do any sports at all, and I was accepted this year. I think it's more to do with the variety of activities you did and how many hours you put in. Last year I had next to nothing in the medical activities department and no sports, and I still had above average in the supplemental section because of other activities. You also have to think about what activities are going to give you the most to talk about in the interview. For example, I used my experiences from piano teaching in several of the stations. In MMI you can talk about the same experience in pretty much every station as lo
  5. Accepted (NB Applicant) GPA: 3.95/4.00 MCAT: 29 (10 BS, 10 VR, 9 PS) EC: 1,000's of hours on the piano (Master's degree in Piano Performance, competitions, recitals, etc). Volunteering in doctor's office, and in SMILE program. Various jobs, taught over 50 piano students (this one helped a lot). Interview: Probably my weaker point. I had 22.7/40 last year, but I worked hard over the summer on improving communication skills and got some advice and mock interviews. I think some people (like me) just really need to prepare way harder for the interview if they are not naturally good at interview
  6. I have a midterm in 30 minutes. I think I'd best check mine afterwards.
  7. Apparently it happened at midnight last year (I don't know if mine changed or not, since I had forgotten the password at that point).
  8. The ides of March.... an appropriate day to release them I guess.
  9. I have a feeling that it might not even be this week... Judging by the vague info we have: "They will be sent out by the end of March."
  10. Am I the only one who still looks even when it's impossible? haha
  11. People are saying it's March break over there now. Does that mean we will not be receiving any letters this week?
  12. Someone told me that there were only 30 NB applicants that interviewed, but I'm not sure where they got the info from. Does anyone know the details on this?
  13. Oh that's interesting. So I was only 1.3 points under the cutoff.... Nobody knows anything about the min/max values or standard deviation do they? If 76 was the average, would it be reasonable to say the range was roughly 71-81?
  14. From my rejection last year: The average scores for the successful applicants in your category are as follows: Average GPA = 3.8 (13/15) Average MCAT = 30 (8/10) Average Supplemental/Essay = 22/35 Average MMI = 33/40 My Scores: Academic Score (GPA & MCAT) 22.00 / 25.00 Essay & Supplemental Score 24.47 / 35.00 Interview Score 22.70 / 40.00 Total Score 69.17
