uOttawa Interview 2018 Discussion
Dr_dreaming replied to maplesyruppoutine's topic in University of Ottawa Medical School
Definitely agree - it was very conversational, but at times I found the interruptions distracted me from what I wanted to say. However, not a bad experience! Felt fortunate to have a friendly panel and was very low stress the entire time. I suppose I had about 10 questions as well. I felt that a few times they changed topics before I was ready to move on, but I tried to be adaptable and go with the flow On an unrelated note - does anyone know if verifiers are contacted before or after interviews? Just curious. Thanks! -

Hi all, I've been fortunate enough to receive another medical school interview, but having only prepared for MMIs before, I'm not sure how to approach prep for a panel interview! Is there anything I should do differently? What should I expect from the panel? I'd love to hear any tips/info you may have

Interview Selection 2018 Cycle
Dr_dreaming replied to Dr.Doc's topic in Dalhousie University Medical School
I was told that Dal typically interviews 50-60 OOP. So probably 228-238 IP interviewees for 102 IP seats. Brings the odds up a little! -

Dr_dreaming replied to rmorelan's topic in University of Ottawa Medical School
Hey s111, I also haven’t received an email with info about the interviews. I got an email confirming receipt of my confirmation of attendance, but nothing else yet. Please post if you hear anything, and I will do the same! -

Not sure if this helps - last year when I didn't receive an interview from Ottawa, the rejection email said they would interview approximately 575 people for 164 seats. I assume it would be roughly the same this year! This year however, the numbers weren't stated on my invite to interview, so I can't say for sure. -

Interview Selection??
Dr_dreaming replied to SWOWOMAN's topic in Dalhousie University Medical School
Thanks medbruh - good to know! I've been checking my email constantly... based on what we were told at the info session at Dal in June, I was expecting to be notified whether we "passed" or "failed" the CASPer -

Hi everyone, Just nitpicking my ABS as I prepare to submit. I've been trying to decide if I should include some personal interests (for example: baking, art, fitness training, etc.). Did any of you include similar types of unstructured activities? If so, did you simply include them in the "other" category? Thanks!
