All OOP rejects seem to have 75-100 NAQ, do you think they made a mistake reporting it?

Anyone else kinda weirded out by their verifier form? Not only are they asked to verify the activity but also describe characteristics that you have and rank you among all the med students they know. Seems more a reference's job...I feel bad for all my verifiers having to actually fill this whole thing out LOL

I personally hope this model doesn't happen....I just don't think cheating is as rampant as people think. As well, over-relying on ECs will really benefit privileged people more - A lot of ECs depend on connections, time, luck, wealth, etc. I think academics (though not perfect) is somewhat of a more even playing field than ECs are. 

Just emailed admissions. They say not to worry about it.

I feel like the "significant increase in application" might have been more than we can imagine... I also can't believe these people with such deep ties can be rejected.

Don't know how this isn't enough to get an OOP interview!

Seeing as a 250 word essay is basically the only factor that determines if you get an interview if OOP,  I can't believe that this isn't enough (and ditto to some of the others I've seen on this page).

I would consider emailing them because I am pretty sure that IP interviews are guaranteed as long as you met the GPA/MCAT/Casper cutoffs. I believe people who did not meet the Casper cutoffs received an email earlier in September.

Also interesting to note that they said there was a "significant" increase in the number of applications received this cycle. This is I think what most people predicted, and I think all OOP applications for Med schools this year will be more competitive this year, probably because interviews are online and the hassle of booking a flight/hotel is no longer a deterrent.

This is a huge shock after 2 cycles applying in ON with 0 interviews! Feeling excited and grateful. 
GPA: 89% ish?
MCAT: 517 
ECs: music heavy, some hospital volunteering, some research, some teaching/mentoring experience.

I'm going to ruffle a few feathers with this post, but a lot of you guys need to take a deep breath, close your eyes, take a step back, and exhale. Some of you are using this forum as a way to co-ruminate undue neuroticism and thats not healthy. There's a time and place for support among compatriots, but this thread has gone beyond that. DAL hasn't forgotten about sending out invites, they will do it - in time. It's written in multiple places on their website that they will send out invites sometime in October. We are the 22nd. Ya'll are basing your "interview release" date on a sample size of 2-3 past years when the current year is certainly an anomaly. It could happen today, tomorrow, next week - heck, it can even be delayed! The point is that DAL will communicate in time. Go outside, enjoy life, know that everything at this point is in the hands of the great cosmic aether. The only thing excessively worrying is going to accomplish is reinforce future worry.
