  1. Congratulations to the new Class of 2022! As you begin your medical studies, now is the best time to learn about your association. If you haven’t heard of us already, the Ontario Medical Association exists to support medical students, residents, and physicians in the province. We advocate for our members and the health of Ontarians, and provide leadership for an accessible, sustainable, high quality health-care system. We are very proud of where we are today and excited about where we are headed with new products and services to serve doctors at every stage of their career.

  3. Hi There, I’m sorry to hear you are stressed out over this issue and very glad you decided to post on this forum to get answers. Most disability insurance offered without medical evidence has something called a pre-existing condition clause. For OMA Insurance, this means if you saw a doctor for a condition in the 1 year prior to your policy date, they may deny the claim for disability related to that condition in the first year of coverage. Once the first year of coverage is over, you will be fully covered for all conditions. All companies have a pre-existing condition clause.
  4. Now that your acceptance is confirmed and the rush to get prepared for med school has set in, I would like to introduce you to the association that will be with you throughout your entire career in Ontario, starting with the first day of medical school - the Ontario Medical Association. The OMA represents your profession to the government and the public on important topics such as legislation, regulations and education, but thee are also MANY membership benefits, some specifically for you. Check out just some of the advantages over 40,000 members access and signup early to get a head star
