Hey, just so you know, you aren't alone. I also feel like my references are 'expiring' very soon, and I'll be lucky to have 2/3 next cycle if I have to reapply. I might have to skip an application year just to create new connections and find new references.

tbh i do check omsas periodically, to make sure it still exists and is on the internet. y''know, just to make sure this whole cycle wasn't one long, shared hallucination that we all had

    SAME.
The internal battle has got me thinking about what I'm going to do to improve my application if I don't get in again. Getting a better job and bolstering ECs is nearly impossible with the pandemic right now. Might be time to go back to school for something different.
Fingers crossed none of us will need to use backup plans this cycle!

My feeling is that these last two weeks are going to go by the slowest.
Anyone else feel different each day? Some days I’m like ‘I bombed the interview there’s NO WAY I’m getting in and I’ll prepare for the worst’ and other days I’m like ‘Maybe it wasn’t so bad let’s look at rentals in the area for Sept’ ... ugh lol this is an emotional roller coaster

Here’s a little neurotic premed research by yours truly.
UofA Decision dates for the past 8 years:
    2019 - May 13
    2018 - April 23
    2017 - May 4
    2016 - May 5
    2015 - May 4
    2014 - May 15
    2013 - May 15
    2012 - May 15
I would have guessed May 4-5th for this year as well but who knows, with COVID-19 making things unpredictable.
Have they notified applicants in the past of the expected release date of decisions?

UBC decides who gets interviews based on a score out of 100. 50% of this score is made up by your GPA, and 50% of the score is made up by your ECs (duration, responsabilities, variety, progression etc.). When added together, your score must pass a threshold in order to receive an interview. The threshold is higher for OOP applicants than for IP applicants.

Instead of looking at OOP acceptance rates, just make a list of all schools you are eligible for and start there. Technically Memorial University, University of Saskatchewan and University of Manitoba all take OOP, but your MCAT needs to be like 520+. UBC requires 2 English courses to apply, and you need a higher GPA + EC score to get an interview as an OOP. Alberta and Calgary have GPA and MCAT requirements for OOP and are EC heavy. Dalhousie can be good to apply OOP but only if you have a maritime connection.
You can apply to pretty much all the Ontario schools because Ontario is a chaotic mess and IP/OOP doesnt really exist, with the exception of McMaster which has higher requirements for OOP interviews.

These are for OOP. Here’s IP as well:
    Avg MCAT score: 128.24, max 132 (x/132)
    Avg cGPA: 3.82, max 4.00 (x/4.0)
Avg personal activities score: 6.00, max 12.00 (x/17)

Ah I have interviews at ec heavy schools too. My gpa is lower and they must weigh that heavily. Thanks for the feedback.
