Yeah I think for my work experiences, I'm going to write "x hours per week" and for my volunteer/EC experiences, I'm going to write "x hours in total" just so that it's clear. Hopefully the adcoms will be OK with that!

Super last minute question here: The OMSAS instructions state "total hours (per week or per month)" which has me a bit confused. How are you reporting your hours? Per week, per month, or the total number? Some of my extracurricular activities had super variable hours per week/month or they were discontinuous (e.g. volunteered for a year, took 2 years off, then picked it up again) so I'd prefer to report the total number of hours (e.g. 300 hours for the whole activity). I realize this probably isn't a huge deal but any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!

For the Self Directed Learning, Problem Solving, and Critical Inquiry essays, Western says one of them must be about research if we have research experience. I did an honours thesis during my undergrad - does this mean I have to write about this? I also have 4 years of clinical research experience and I would rather focus my research essay on this because it was a longer commitment and I have more examples of the qualities that Western is looking for here. Thanks!

Congrats!! I hope you get bumped up to your first choice site. I hear ya...the wait is brutal! Usually 1 or 2 spots, according to the admissions blog. That said, every year is different and who knows if COVID will impact how things play out.
