  1. I know of someone who will be rejecting their offer at UofT soon! So one more move up the waitlist! Good luck to all!
  2. Yeah everyone I've spoken to has said the same. I am looking into renting my own place now. Thanks a bunch!
  3. Oh I see! Well now I'm just as confused then! Guess we just have to wait and see. I wish they'd do it automatically!
  4. There's a two part email that explains the registration process. So far, I've received the first email that describes the basics such as key dates to keep in mind and how to access Minerva. The second email should probably be sent out by the end of the week. Just confused: I didn't know we had to register for courses. I thought it's like high school where everyone is in the same class.
  5. Hi guys! Has anyone applied for graduate housing in the previous years? If so, how did you like the experience? Would you recommend it or is renting an apartment off-campus a better choice? Also, when did you hear back? And did you get one of your top choices? Thanks!
  6. I would love to have plaid !! Both red and black. Wonder if they'll ever add patterns rather than just colours.
  7. This was posted in the other waitlist discussion. The numbers are good for Med-P! Good luck!
  8. Yeah, I found it strange as well since I know of people who have defended their grad studies in the fall of med school. Maybe they're trying to be more strict this year? It also might depend on who responded to you. The administrative staff may have different opinions on the matter. Anyway, I might contact them again after I defend to see if they want the updated transcript.
  9. I'm on the same boat. I am finishing graduate studies but they accepted my undergrad official transcript. My status on minerva states that the transcripts have all been received. Plus, they only consider undergrad grades for admission so I don't think they need updated grad transcript. Edit: I just called them and they said that once I defend, I should send another transcript before orientation week, if possible, stating that my graduate degree is conferred. But, I was told that it's good that I sent an incomplete transcript before July 31st as long as I explain my circumstance via email.
  10. I think you have a very good chance of landing an interview as long as you do well on the CASPer test. Your GPA is high/competitive for IP and nowadays the CV is only worth 10% pre-interview. I suggest you practice for the CASPer as much as possible to ensure you're ranked high pre-interview. After that, it's basically 80% interview skills.
  11. The program at McGill also offers weekly French courses if you'd like to improve your technical French vocabulary. Plus, living in Montreal, you'll have plenty of opportunities to improve your French. I have heard of some OOPs matching back in Ontario so it is definitely possible to come back!
  12. View the following statistics for waitlist movement: https://www.afmc.ca/publications/canadian-medical-education-statistics-cmes screenshot of the statistics is also below. Although it's stats for both streams, the majority are from English.
  13. You have a pretty good chance. I read statistics online stating that 257 offers were given last year for 164 seats! That's a lot from waitlist and the majority are from the English stream! Here's a screenshot and the source https://www.afmc.ca/publications/canadian-medical-education-statistics-cmes
  14. I attended the information session the day of the interview and was told they will be re-implementing the good/bad wait list.
  15. It's the same interview for both but they have different evaluators for each faculty behind the glass. So depending on what they look for, you may be a perfect match for one and not the other.
