  2. CSA stands for Canadian studying abroad, which is a specific group of IMGs. Not sure if your comment was meant to be derogatory in some way lol If you study in Melbourne you have a huge advantage in being a category 2 for internship applications after you’re done. That basically means empty intern spots go to you before they go to Australians from inter-state schools or IMGs.
  3. Dear all, I am a current CSA at Griffith University in Gold Coast. I wanted to share with you my horrible experience and tell you I think you should not even apply to Griffith for medicine. Seriously, don’t do it. Do yourself a big favour, apply to UQ or U Syd instead. If you want to know more, feel free to PM me.
  4. Hi guys, I have a question for anyone who’s familiar with internal med candidate selection: for an IMG who’s interested in applying to internal med, is a CTU rotation necessary as an elective? I couldn’t get a CTU rotation but I got 2 subspeciality rotations 2 weeks each. Is that sufficient or have my chances been eliminated by not having a CTU elective or reference letter?
  5. For any General internal med specialists out there who've recently completed training, what can a GIM expect to make in first year out of training?
  6. Seems like so many people this year have applied for EM, and the competition is fierce. The question is, why are so many people picking EM over specialities with much higher earning potential like Derm and Ophthalmology? How much can a new EM grad expect to make?
