The deadline is July 31, 2019 so it has not yet passed. Here are the details on that promotion:

I’m looking to sign with scotia but they said the $300 promotion has ended. Has anyone had any success getting them to give them the promotion even though the deadline passed?

Wear modest business casual when shadowing or working clinically and to class some people wear the same while others are dressed entirely casually. Really up to you.

Since the waitlist is expected to start moving soon, could those who are willing to share their stats do so in the following manner? It would really help those still waiting gauge where they are at on the waitlist, if there is a pattern.
An example (not real stats!):
Waitlist email time: 7:18:50 AM (time that the email was sent, not received)
Call time: 1:30 PM, May 20, 2019
wGPA: 3.952
Let me know if there's anything I missed! Best of luck to everyone

Also, I checked the AFMC 2019 PDF and it shows that last year, 84 people declined their offer at uOttawa (English and French).
2017/2018 - 84 declined
2016/2017 - 93 declined
2015/2016 - 93 declined
2014/2015 - 88 declined.
So let’s hope it’s a decent amount this year lol.

Your email passes through different web servers to reach you and those can be located in different parts with different time zones.

rganglion reacted to m_jacob_45 in How many acceptances does uOttawa Send out?
Also keep in mind that people take themselves off the waitlist if they are accepted at another school but waitlisted at Ottawa, so it’s probably more than the top 250.

Don't worry! They understand you need to plan for possibly not getting in - life goes on They likely won't even know you accepted it and will definitely not care.

No they won't be able to see that. If it was at the same institutation there may be a VERY small possiblity (but even then they wouldn't care) they can see you applied but otherwise, no chance. People apply to dentistry and medicine and accept the former since it comes out earlier, and are still in the running for MD even at the same institutions.

Yes, even within the same institution they don’t care, in my experience.
For master’s programs, I was accepted into two different master’s programs at the same univeristy (and several master’s programs at other universities). I’m currently doing a PhD, and I was accepted to two different PhD programs at my current university (as well as to PhD programs at other universities). None of the programs cared that I had received acceptance to other programs, even within the same university.

Hello rganglion!
There are many opportunities for Intramurals at uOttawa Med! We participate in the intramural leagues run through main campus and regularly have hockey, basketball, ultimate, soccer, dodgeball and flag football teams. It's a great opportunity to get to know your classmates and stay active!

rganglion reacted to LUUO in Tips on how to prepare for Ottawa Panel Interview
Just to preface, we had to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement so my answers are intentionally vague.
1) When I did my interview, the interview was in some sort of conference room with a long table, with one member on each other of the table, so I expect something similar to occur this year.
2) They're there to know you. I would say that they can be both open ended and direct.
3) There was a panel-interview practice opportunity at my previous university (offered by career services), so I would suggest looking into your university and if they offer something similar.
3) Be yourself!
