Definitely. I think those receiving interview invites during this period are more anxious than those that didn't have the misfortune of waiting this long, so the built-up anxiety makes us more active on this forum and thus, more likely to post if we got an invite lol

I feel like both of these experiences really introduced me to new people, exposed me to unique experiences, and taught me a whole lot about leadership & responsibility. Not to mention the skills you pick up are something that I'll have forever (design and familiarity with C4D/Photoshop is something that was expanded upon after I was introduced to it back in 2011 by a fellow competitive player). They also taught me a lot in terms of dealing with people and being able to decipher problematic situations. Not to mention you have to grow a thick skin in order to take on the heat from some people that can be a pain to deal with (*shudders* remembering some horrific Skype calls I've gotten).

It has given me a platform to develop and get better at argumentation, as well as develop my passion for Hockey.
The question remains though. Do you think these EC's are too weird to include or exactly what a unique EC would consist of?
    Any input would be appreciated!

My biggest piece of advice which was also echoed in a UofT admission blog video is that you want your references to be current, avoid high school reference letters. I had 10 high school entries through OMSAS (although ~3 were activities I continued into university). The rest were all long term university experiences ~4-5 years each or work related things.

    Interview: April 7
    wGPA: 3.97-3.99
    MCAT: met cutoffs
ECs: pretty extensive! message for details!
Essays: spent a LONG time on these. They were well written, thoughtful and got lots of edits! However, I was worried they were not personal enough (bc in 2 of the 4 essays I did not include personal stories), but seems like this wasn't much of an issue.

I think next week will likely be the final set of invitations, and those who are not rejected in the massive wave are likely being held onto in case there is a last minute cancellation.

For those still waiting, just remember that even though there is one day likely left for interview spots, UofT has added additional interview dates/times when candidate quality exceeded the 600 spot limit. Even last year they interviewed 39 additional candidates on top of the traditional 600.

If people are wanting to take legal action regarding a single medical school rejection, then I think admissions is doing their job correctly in keeping you out.

Just wear something that matches. Wearing something purely to stand out is a risk - If for whatever reason the article used to stand out becomes a distraction, there is no way the interviewers will be listening to what you are saying. If a purple tie compliments the suit well, by all means go for it! I would caution though risking any clashing colours just to showcase your love of the Mustangs

Don't forget that these are averages. Just like how the OOP invite average was 91.44, which means we have some 95+ students, and some 85 students, the same goes for MCAT. I strongly believe UBC would not invite you to an interview if they knew you did not have a chance based on MCAT alone. I think it certainly has some weight, but there is no reason for a school to have students pay hundreds of dollars in accommodations, flight arrangements, and taxis to get to an interview and then have the school just disregard the applicant because of the MCAT score. If it is anything like Dalhousie's point system, there is not much difference between a 523(10/10)  and a 511(8/10), perhaps 2 application points (out of 100).

My two friends accepted to UBC as OOP (first round, both VMP) had 88% and 90% averages with 514 and 513 MCAT, I really don't think the MCAT is weighted in such an aggressive manner that it will destroy an application. They ended up accepting their IP schools which to me tells me that with multiple offers, they excelled in their interviews.

For future reference: http://applymd.utoronto.ca/2018-–-2019-admissions-cycle-updates does monthly updates regarding the state of the application process. It appears nearly all files have undergone review, and they are now organizing the applicants by interview date.
"We are entering the final phase of our file reviews; the process is nearing its completion for all applications received through OMSAS. In the meantime, we will continue to contact verifiers between the hours of 9AM – 5PM.
Our first MPI day has concluded. The schedule for the MPI Day 2 is being finalized and is nearly full at the moment. However, please note that to ensure all spaces are filled from last minute availabilities, invitations could be sent up to 3 business days prior to the MPI Day (see our interview schedule here).
All admissions decisions (invitations and refusals) will continue to go out throughout the cycle in small groupings."
