  1. Classes at Mac don't run all day (they're typically 1.5-2hrs long and you have maybe 1-2 classes a day). However, prep work can definitely take a longer time! One thing I want to mention is that I truly love how Mac starts placement earlier than other schools (we have class for 2 months, 1 month of placement/Christmas break, 2 months for class again, and then 2 months of placement). It's a nice combination and helps us a lot with learning practical skills so early in the program.
  2. Hi there! First year Mac student here! From September to November, our classes were completely online. It wasn’t until mid November when we started placement that we had about 3 in person classes to review transfers/mobility since those topics are nearly impossible to teach online. We had placement from November-December which was nice! Some were virtual, some were in person and some were a hybrid of both. 3. Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in and say that I'd be more than happy to help answer any questions about ORPAS or UofA applications for OT (I remember how nerve-racking it was when I applied). My inbox is open to anyone and everyone! Best of luck!!

  5. Will be firmly accepting McMaster for OT so the waitlists for UofT, Western and UofA will be moving! Stoked to be starting in fall!! If any of you are also choosing McMaster, please give me a shout! I'd love to connect with some future classmates!
  6. Ahh, just one more day!! Hang in there, guys!! As offers are released around midnight, does anyone know if this is according to EST? I'm from Alberta so I'm wondering if I should start checking at around 10pm MST!
  7. Got off the waitlist for McMaster's MMI today! Check your spam folder because that's where I found mine! Best of luck, guys
  8. Just got my MMI interview email for McMaster! I’m on the waitlist right now! Hope everyone hears back soon

For my essay, I highlighted my experiences of working as an OTA since 2018, primarily in the mental health unit of a long-term care facility and have just recently started working on other units for supported living and dementia. As the unit was being commissioned for the first year, I worked directly under two OTs. I've had 3 years worth of practicum at various locations for ind
