  1. Hey, sorry I am just seeing this now - thanks so much!! I did end up enrolling in the course and so far it has been as you've said - a lot of information at once but i think without the timeline to keep me on track and teachers to access when I have a question, I would probably be down a chemistry wormhole by now haha. Glad to hear it was helpful for you!
  2. Hey everyone, I'm just wondering whether in your experience a prep course is sufficient to prepare for the MCAT? I plan to take the Prep101 course from May-July and then write in August. I'm hoping that will adequately prepare me? I don't have any chemistry or physics background/prereqs so those areas will be mostly new knowledge for me. Thanks in advance!
  3. Time stamp: 2:41 PM EST Program: MD Result: Rejection OMSAS GPA: 3.93 CARS: 128 IP/OOP: IP Casper: Prepped a fair amount and thought it went alright, but still found myself struggling for time/getting cut off quite often. Definitely disappointed but felt it could go either way for me. If anyone has any secrets to doing well on CASPer, let me know, because clearly after my second Mac rejection I can't seem to figure it out!
  4. Hi everyone, Just wondering if there is anyone that you may know of who has been successful on CASPer (ie. received an interview) using point form to answer the questions? While practicing the sample questions, I'm finding it hard to get all my ideas down in full sentences and point form seems to make this a bit easier (I'm not a great typer). I'm just concerned that point form could potentially impact my score. Thanks in advance!
  5. Was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on my chances for McMaster this year. Would really appreciate any insight! CARS: 128 GPA: 3.93 I applied last year with these same stats and unfortunately did not receive an interview invite. Is it possible to do well enough on CASPer this year to get an interview? This is also considering the fact that there are now hypothetically less spots for interviews this cycle, since everyone who received an interview invite but was not admitted this year via the lottery is to automatically receive an invite next year. I'm not totally sure
  6. Hi everyone, I recently completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McMaster and am looking to apply to med school this application round. I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with or insight into applying to med school with a nursing degree. I know I am eligible for McMaster, but looking at other schools like UofT and UWO I find myself very confused as to whether I would meet the course load requirements - especially with all of our mandatory pass/fail courses. Feeling kind of pessimistic at this point. I‘d really appreciate any help!
  7. Thank you so much! Yes uworld is the best haha I am using it to study for the nclex right now... I’ll definitely check out those other resources. I really appreciate your advice, you’ve been so helpful! All the best!
  8. Thanks so much for your help, it's much appreciated! If you don't mind me asking as well, what resources do you recommend using to learn the hard sciences, especially chem/physics? That's definitely going to be the most difficult for me. I'm surprised you were able to study and do well without prereqs in under 5 months, it certainly makes me feel better knowing that it's doable!
  9. Thanks for your advice, I'm definitely feeling a bit more encouraged now! Although I have a feeling my starting score is going to be pretty low... I never even took physics in high school so I am going to have to start from scratch.
  10. @Nik- Thanks for your response and congrats on your score! if you don’t mind me asking, how long did you study for? I am planning on 5-6 months and hoping that will be enough for self study? Do you have any other advice? I really appreciate it!
  11. Hey everyone! I recently graduated from a nursing program in Ontario and have decided that I want to write the MCAT this August. The problem is that my nursing program barely covered any of the prerequisite courses that are important for the MCAT - I have two sems of psych/soc, one sem of human biochemistry, and perhaps some physiology- and microbiology-related stuff covered by a couple of my other classes. But I have zero chem, organic chem and physics prereqs. I really can’t afford to take these courses and am hoping I can self study this info with Khan Academy and Kaplan. Just wonderin
  12. Time Stamp: 9:58 AM Invite/Reject: Reject GPA: 3.94 CARS: 128 Casper: Obviously not good enough and didn't feel great either; consistently ran out of time and made SO many typos Geography: IP
