  1. Hey all, I'm trying to figure out the easiest english course to take in order to meet UBC's english prerequisites. I've heard good reviews about Engl 255 at Athabasca. I've also heard some good reviews about English 1101 at Thompson River online learning. I'm also thinking about maybe taking English at a local easy university, like Langara or Capilano, though there's barely any reviews about those courses. Anyone have any good recommendations about which English course is easiest to take? Realistically, I am hoping for an A- or 80%.
  2. One of their promises is a new medical school in BC!!! https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-ndp-election-platform-2020-1.5752102
  3. Hey everyone, Recently, I've realized that my ECs are very lacking due to my heavy focus on GPA. Now, I was wondering that if I was to volunteer heavily, like have tons of hours for a few activities, would that help out for UBC's emphasis on long term commitment? The ideal case would be tons of hours over years but in my case, would UBC value fewer hours over many years or a ton of hours over a few months? Also, how long would be classified as long term commitment (1 year? 2 years? 3+ years?) Thanks
  4. Hey everyone. In America, a lot of undergrad institutions have spoken up and said that there will be less emphasis on ECs since they want everyone to stay home and take care of family. Do you think that med schools will do something similar and place less focus on ECs? Especially at EC heavy schools like UBC, uAlberta, uCalgary and Queens?
  5. Hey all, I was wondering if I could apply in third year as long as I have two full years completed?
  6. Hey all, Does anyone happen to know the pre-interview and post-interview breakdown and how much GPA, MCAT, ECs, and interview are worth?
  7. Hi everyone, Just a curious question. Do you have to mention what high school you went to on your med school app, or do med schools even ask you about high school? Thanks
  8. Hi everyone, I am a first year student studying at McMaster and I want to start getting into research soon. Does anyone know if there are any programs or opportunities at McMaster that I can apply to or do I have to cold-email professors? Also, what time do you think it is best to start applying (Dec/Jan/Feb)? Thanks
