  1. Anecdotally - I only had two volunteer positions noted (one ~300 hours, the other ~200 hours) but five work experiences (4/5 research). I know UBC says they look for the same values in both, but who knows? My NAQ last year was ~23.xx so not that high anyways.
  2. Yea, it’s definitely worse if you’re OOP. The curriculum that was sent out only deals with term 1 though. I’m hoping term 2 is more in-person.
  3. Thanks for your response! The 2024 email says that “Weeks 3 - 11 (Communication Skills) and 12 - 14 (Clinical Skills) will be delivered online.” and only week 15 will be in-person. For FM offices, “The delivery of office visits will be guided by the practice of individual preceptors, with both in person and virtual/telehealth opportunities.” And no shadowing due to covid (this was expected but still what a bummer). In this case, I only expect to go to campus for family practice and the one week of clinical skills. I guess I’m just upset about the experience being lost.
  4. For those of you at VFMP who live in BC but are a quite a long commute away (Surrey, Langley, White Rock, even Richmond, Burnaby, etc.). Are you staying home? I have about a 1.5 hr commute (that I did for my entire undergrad) and was looking forward to finally moving.. but I can't imagine spending that kind of money now.
  5. Agree with the posts above... you have very good stats, nearly identical to mine (520 MCAT, 89% GPA) and you might have better ECs. Double check that all of your references were solid and 100% apply again. GL
  6. Only interviewed once and it was meh. Nevertheless, I wrote my thoughts below. These are just my opinions and could very well be wrong. Happy to discuss !! Do you think we should use a formulated approach (by discussing impacts of an issue on a personal, community, and institutional levels) or a more conversational approach? For most stations, conversational. Sometimes the interviewer won’t really engage in a discussion, at which point you can continue to monologue it. By making it conversational, you allow them to make inputs that you can quickly pick up on and elaborate. Don’t

Odd jobs (retail) and some volunteering. Not very strong (last year, I didn't get an interview and NAQ was 23.xx). One publication (2nd author). MCAT: 520 (130/129/131/130) Interview: Felt okay. Acting stations were a mess, didn't think I spoke enough. Connected very well wit

  10. Not sure, but it would only be fair for the early applicants to have a full day. Who knows, I'll just sit in stress until an email comes.
  11. Thanks! It's been fueling the whole last year since that last R
