Are you renting through your university or privately?

Did you have to provide info regarding the owner of the house? When I contacted my parents insurance company they mentioned the extension only applies to student housing provided by the university so I’m wondering how you set it up!

Thanks for your info! Based on my research, LOC interest rates are actually lower than OSAP. LOC at most banks is prime - 0.25%, whereas for OSAP the Ontario portion of the loans have an interest rate of prime + 1% and federal at prime + 0%. Just thought to throw that out there in case anyone else looks into this thread!

Oh nevermind, I think you mean that by applying for OSAP you're automatically considered for provincial and federal bursaries/loans correct?

So by applying to OSAP via their application, I will automatically be considered for school specific bursaries?

Do you mind clarifying what the student loan program is?

So essentially I could get a loan for which interest wouldn't accumulate until finishing med, then use my LOC to pay off that OSAP loan after school is done - thereby preventing interest accumulation on my LOC if using solely that to pay for school?

Can anyone explain why the BLS Interim Part 1 courses vary so much in price? Is there a difference between them? Also, is the location that we select for part 1 the same location we'll have to do part 2 at?

Hi everyone! I was hoping to get some insight on how significant the homeschool advantage is! I received offers from Ottawa and Mac and am leaning towards Ottawa due to its curriculum. However, I am from the GTA and would like to do residency closer to home (ideally Toronto). If the home school advantage is significant, then I would prefer to have it at McMaster since its by far closer to my home town. Thanks in advance!

Hey guys! I've received offers at both uOttawa and Mac and am struggling to make a decision as to which to accept since both are so different. I was hoping to get some insight on some pros/cons for each and if anyone is/was in the same boat, what helped you make this choice? My prominent specialty interests are Pediatrics, OBGYN, IM and FM, however I am not dead set on these and am open to trying new things due to my lack of extensive clinical experience. I've seen a lot of both negative and positive things about Mac regarding the order or cores + electives, anatomy, and pace of learning

Can someone pls clarify the difference between the good vs bad waitlist? Is this discretely mentioned when receiving the email on Tuesday? And does anyone know typically how many people are on each waitlist? Preparing myself with all the info to limit freakouts as much as possible on Tuesday lol
