  1. Hi! Has anyone gotten into schools without taking a full course load (5 courses/15 credits)? Thanks in advance.
  2. Has anyone taken courses online at Athabasca University? Can you share your experience? Do OT schools like McMaster accept these courses? Do courses need to be transferable at my home university, or can I take any course?
  3. Hello I'm also an undergrad student but have been working on my degree for 6 years now. I've been eligible to graduate, but decided not to yet so I could improve my GPA. Just wanted to let you know that once you've graduated, any courses you take outside of your degree to increase your GPA is referred to as "upgrading". I emailed some schools and some only allow you to take upper-level courses for it to count if it's outside your degree.
  4. Does anyone have any experiences with "W"/withdrawals on their transcript and still got accepted?
  5. Thanks so much for the reply Did you have other semesters throughout undergrad with a full course load?
  6. Hi everyone, I am interested in the OT program. I was just wondering if anyone who got accepted had a reduced course load? I e-mailed UWO and they replied that they give preference to those who took a full course load over 2 years I was also wondering if anyone took lower level courses in the last 60 credits. Thanks in advance!
  7. Does anyone know if schools in Ontario look down poorly on those who did not take full course loads (5 courses/semester)? I emailed UWO and they said they do prefer candidates that took at least 2 years of a full course load. Has anyone been accepted to any Ontario schools without taking any semesters with a full course load?
  8. What exactly does “upgrading” mean? I haven’t graduated yet but staying an extra year or two. Would this still count as upgrading? Thank you.
  9. Thanks for the info. I didn’t see this requirement from any other schools in Ontario. Does anyone know or have any experience with taking lower level courses with other schools other than UofT? Thanks in advance!
  10. Hello, I was wondering if taking lower level courses would have an impact on your application. I'm staying extra years, as I just took an interest in PT, and need to improve my sub-GPA. As a result, I'm taking some extra courses/electives, however, they are 1st and 2nd year courses as there is nothing else I can take. Thanks for your help.
  11. I just recently gained an interest in becoming a PT or OT, and I'm heading into my 6th year of my BSc. Will schools look poorly upon this? I realized that I need to take a few pre-reqs still and also need to boost my sub-GPA. I also have to start more volunteering! I might even have to take a 7th year??
  12. Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and recently had an interest in PT programs. I was wondering how do they use 4.0 credit courses? For instance, if this year I took three 4.0 credit courses, would that count as 12 units out of the 60? What if in one year I only took one 4.0 credit course, how would that be used in the calculation? Thanks in advance!
