  1. Idk how relevant it is to you but it explicitly advantages you in Quebec. The French schools openly put that you get more preinterview score if you did dentistry, and I asked a McGill admissions person and they said it doesn’t disadvantage you and since it’s a professional degree they add a bump to the preinterview score. Anecdotally I asked someone that made the switch and they told me there’s no disadvantage, schools don’t care, it’s not like America where it might matter. Also I asked a loc rep from scotia bank about what happens if I switched and they said they just continue the loc. I wou
  2. Kinda wild that the IP waitlist moved once and then stayed stagnant since. Hopefully, we'll get movement soon!
  3. Cegep rscore doesn’t reset. Why would you have to redo cegep? Taking a gap doesn’t mean you start over from the beginning, you still have the credits you start where you left off
  4. No I meant if the exemption would still apply to those that did cegep and high school in Quebec considering the Montreal and outaouais campuses will require different levels of french to apply (B2 vs C1)
  5. I think it was either could lead to exemption. Hopefully they’ll expand on it in the website soon. As an Anglo Quebecor our only option is McGill for med school. Did anyone catch if the high school and cegep in English would allow people to still apply to Outaouais?
  6. Yes but I think they start for fall 2023 admissions. The black student pathway starts next cycle
  7. They’re adding 2 changes to admissions. They’re adding a black student admissions pathway and they’re adding French level requirement, B2 for Montréal and C1 for Outaouais
  8. Right at the end of this document they mention changes to admissions www.mcgill.ca/ugme/policies-procedures/ugme-policy-language-proficiency
  9. Ok according to the policy it seems language proficiency is going to be a requirement starting for fall 2023 admissions
  10. Hi can I ask where you heard about that requirement? Seems reasonable hopefully they give people time to adjust
  11. If it’s any consolation it’s very easy to get into Australia. Pretty sure it’s free to apply too! I got in to several schools and completely forgot I applied. They only look at Gpa and mcat. None of those subjective things like ECs or letters. Too bad matching is rough
  12. How high are the acceptance rates of early decision programs? I'm curious as I know my chances as a Canadian are low to get into the US in general
  13. Didn’t the other med schools come out already?? You’d think there’d be movement on the waitlist now
  14. It really depends on what school you go to. I know someone that paid around 500k USD purely on tuition. Ended up way more with housing, food, travel, insurance. And that was on top of their student debt from undergrad!
  15. I had the same problem. Because of covid a lot of clinics aren't doing immunization forms and the clscs are just refusing to do it. I called my clsc and they put me on a waitlist and never got back to me. I called even went to a walk in clinic and they said to go to the CLSC lol. I ended up going to a private clinic and just paying for them to fill the form and give me whatever vaccines and blood tests I needed.
  16. They post the statistics for the results of the DAT. During the November test this year there was a very low number of people that got less than 15. I think like 5 out of the 200 students. the numbers are off I don't have the statistics they sent people. but it's not hard to get 15. its hard to get high scores on that section but you only need 15. I only did the practice booklet once from the CDA and got an 19 on that section lol, I didn't even finish. But there are ways to prep, I asked applicants after and they used YouTube videos on how to do it faster.
  17. Damn the waitlist moved pretty fast. Hopefully it moves more once the French med schools release results
  18. Does anyone have any idea how much the wait list moves for IP. Or at least when it usually starts moving? Got into Toronto but I would really want to do it at McGill
  19. It was a prerecorded interview last year too. Just gonna say it shows in the first year class that some people really benefitted from that kind of interview...
  20. you can still act scenarios face to face. It's over zoom you see the actors. honestly i don't think it was that different from in person interviews
  21. This is so wild. Just update applicants if you’re going to delay. It’s not that hard smh
  22. I’d drop if I got into McGill solely for that sweet Quebec tuition. But other than that toronto is my next top choice. It has the best reputation in my opinion. Now if only they’d release the acceptances lol
  23. No McGill does not heavily weigh ECs. It makes up only 10% of the pre interview score.
