  1. Yes I went back and boosted my sGPA and I also continued my research experience as an RA at Western but I did not have any direct OT experience because of the pandemic.
  2. Hey guys I just wanted to come on here and say for the people who didn't get in this year, if OT or PT is your dream continue to chase it!! Its really not about if but when. I got rejections from all schools last year for OT and I went back for another year and I just got in! Don't lose hope and keep fighting for your dream.
  3. Thanks for the advice! I applied this year and I have about 5 years of experience working at Camps and I worked with children with disabilities in the camps but I don't know if thats enough. I am not sure if they are looking for direct OT experience thats why I was a little stressed.
  4. Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to get a volunteer position at an OT clinic for this summer. I have been emailing a lot of clinics around the GTA and unfortunately because of the covid situation I haven't heard back from any that are accepting volunteers. Please let me know if anyone has any advice on how to get some experience! Thanks so much
  5. I went back for a 5th year to boost my subGPA as well and I took 3.5 courses this year but all the other years I had 5.0. I think if you mention in your statement that your degree was done but you went back to boost your GPA it might still be okay (I hope). I'm not too sure I applied this cycle as well. I am also working part-time so I made sure to add that in my statement so they know. Did you mention you were working?
  6. Sorry I'm just a bit confused with what you said (I might just be reading it wrong), so do you mean the cut off that they look at is 84%? How do you know thats the cut off when the average subGPA that gets in is 3.7?
  7. Im guessing it could be both, my best guess is that they use the personal submissions for admissions as well as placing you in groups later on. But im not too sure!
  8. Hey I ended up emailing Westerns admissions for OT and they replied saying they do use the personal submissions in the admissions process! Im not sure why people heard they don't but I think that might have been miscommunication or some sort of confusion.
  9. Hey guys I was just looking on the UofT website for OT and they updated how many applicants they had this year. This year there were 1019 applicants for anyone whos wondering!
