  1. I'm a third year student who has a 3.99 OMSAS gpa and scored an 11 in bio, 11 in phys and 10 in verbal. I never really studied much for the MCAT to be honest. Is it worth re-writing in January? Thanks!
  2. Hi, This was a double post, apologies.
  3. I am currently finishing my BSc at McGill (cGPA and sGPA of 3.90 with an upward trend from 3.74 up to now) and don't have to submit my MCAT score unless I want to. To sum my application up briefly - I've upwards of 1000hrs of research and 15ish years of musical experience, can play 5 instruments (won a scholarship for a summer program at Berklee College of Music for the summer between highschool and Cegep here - when I was 17). Strong upward trend in my cGPA going from 3.74 my first semester to the 3.90 two years later where I am now. And a good history of athletics (weightlifting, youth
  4. I'm thinking of rewriting my MCAT in January but would like some insight on whether it's worth doing. Here are my scores: PS-14 VR-10 BS-11 GPA: 3.91 The score is quite unbalanced. I'm from Ontario and plan on only applying to Ontario med schools for now. Thanks for your help!
  5. So I took the MCAT and got a 33 (11/10/12) and am considering writing it again in a week to see if bumping my verbal up to an 11 for Western but I know a ton of people who have re-written and fallen below the cutoffs (for schools like UofT). From people who have had similar experiences is it worth the risk??
  6. Hi all. Just a general inquiry, I note that OMSAS says scores have to be received by November 1st, 2014. Does that mean that the October test dates are a valid option? This will be my third time writing, so I am not too disheartened if they have to use my previous years score as I am just trying to improve but I am curious as to whether it is pointless to write an October test date. thanks.
  7. Hello! I've seen this question answered before but the search for it is not bringing up any results so excuse the double post but I just wanted to double and triple check. What is the last date that you can write the MCAT and still have it be accepted by McMaster (since they look at your most recent). Can you write any date up to October 1st? Or do the results have to be IN by October 1st? And does it say this anywhere on the site? All I could find close to that is: The most recent MCAT Verbal Reasoning score will be considered valid up to five years preceding the
  8. Hey! Sorry if this has already been asked, but I am a bit confused. Does your mcat get flagged if you get a 9 on your mcat? or does it get flagged if you score lower than a 9? I am just confused because it seems that they aren't accepting below a 9, so I don't understand the whole flag system. Thanks so much for the help, Maggie PS. I am going into third year, with a 3.91 GPA, 9PS/11VR/12BS, and several extracurriculars with leadership roles, strong reference letters, and research. Do I have a chance with a 9PS?
  9. Hello Everyone! I recently just completed by undergrad and I am looking for an MCAT study buddy to join me in studying (most likely Robarts at UofT or Osgoode Library at York U, but we can work out the details) starting the third week of September to prepare for the 2014 MCAT which I should be writing in late November. We can keep each other motivated, go over content together and just be awesome and kill the MCAT together Please feel free to private message me! I have an online Kaplan prep course that I am doing and access to all the books one can need and wouldn't mind sharing.
  10. Does anyone know if they use your most recent MCAT score or your highest MCAT score (like Manitoba) if you've written it more than once? I'm OOP
  11. Hey guys, So i'm writing my MCAT for the second time on September 6th. I got 31 (12/9/10) last time (september 2013) and decided to rewrite. I'm current scoring much higher on all Practice tests and generally feel more confident. I'm currently averaging 35, with a range of only +/- 1. My average per section so far is as follows: Ps: 13-15 VR: 9-10 BS: 11-13? What worries me is my VR which i can't seem to consistently get 10+. The original reason for my retake was to boost my VR but now i'm scared that might not happen. My question is, if I score a 36 with a 14/9/13, does that co
  12. Hello Everyone, I just received my mcat results and I am utterly disappointed I got a measly score of 24: PS 7 VR 7 BS 10... I know that I would definitely have to re-write the mcat but I am having a hard time deciding whether I should book my exam in January so I could still write the old one, or whether I should just spend next summer full-on studying and write the new one. If I write in January I wouldn't have much time to study considering I will be a full-time student with many demanding classes and of course EC's.....What should I do?!? The schools I am interested in applying
  13. ... who has been invited to an interview with a 10 in VR? Non-SWOMEN. My guess is no, but just wondering. How many non-SWOMEN students even make it into the matriculating class each year?
  14. Sorry if this is not the correct spot to post this, but it seemed like the most relevant location. I just found out my MCAT score and I got 32 (10 PS/ 8 VR/ 14 BS). I'm obviously happy with my BS score, but the PS and VR scores are kind of worrying me. My focus is to apply to UBC (as well as other schools). Is this score too close to the edge? Should I retake? Thanks! ANY HELP is much appreciated!
  15. Hello, I got my MCAT scores back, and I was pretty dissappointed. I received 9PS/11VR/12BS. First questions is do you think I should rewrite? I was think of rewriting in September. I was also hoping to apply this year. Sorry in advanced if this is a stupid question. If I submit this score for now, and then rewrite in September and send that score when I get it, is that fine? Also if I rewrite in September, and I submit this score now, and then don't submit my second score is that fine? Thank you, BumMed

  17. So I was thinking of doing a prep101 course and the sn2ed schedule either in the summer of 2015 or 2016. I know Prep101's course this summer was $1700. I'm just wondering how much the following resources would cost and if they're still available to buy despite the 2015 changes. Also will prices of resources increase given that new sections are being added? - Berkeley Review (BR) General Chemistry - BR Organic Chemistry - Examkrackers (EK) Biology for non-detailed approach OR The Princeton Review Hyperlearning (TPR) Biology/BR Biology for a detailed approach (In the schedule, I will use EK
