I have really enjoyed my Peds rotation as well as IM rotation and their ambulatory options and can see myself enjoy doing either of them as a career. So I was thinking of taking electives in both in order apply to both. Anyone got any thoughts on this? Is it a good idea? You or anyone you know has done this? Would it reduce my chances of getting accepted if Carms Committees see that I have taken both electives?

Hi fellow CaRMSers, I currently have an interview booked for the morning of Feb 2nd, but I really need to switch to Feb 3rd. Unfortunately, it's the only date that fits in my schedule. If you would be willing to switch with me, please send me a private message so we can arrange the swap! Thanks and good luck!

Hi! I currently have an interview at Memorial (pediatrics) on the 20th but would really prefer the 17th to make travel easier. Does anyone have the 17th who would be willing to switch??

Hi! Has anyone done pediatric electives at CHEO? Would you be able to share your experience in the department that you rotated in and give recommendations for good preceptors?

Hello! Does anyone have experience doing electives in these specialties? Would you care to share your experience and recommend good preceptors to follow? 1) Infectious disease at University of Calgary 2) Any pediatrics rotation at CHEO (University of Ottawa) Thanks!

Hi, I was wondering if any students/residents had advice about which medical schools to prioritize doing a pediatric elective at if you only had 3 choices. At which schools did you have the best experience? Did you feel like you learned more in smaller or bigger centers (e.g. McMaster vs Toronto)? Were there any universities that were wiling to allow students on visiting electives to start/do research projects while they were there? And how much does having research experience favor one's application in pediatrics during Carms? Thanks!
