Hi everyone, I am currently a fourth year engineering student at ualberta wondering if I even have a shot at med school. Here are my grades (according to ualberta grading) and EC's so far My best 2 year gpa is a 3.81 (last two years) My GPA with my lowest year dropped is a 3.63 MCAT: 514 EC's aren't great. I have 2 summer work terms at engineering firms. About 100 volunteer hours for a charity in a non-medical field. Co-author of a biomedical engineering research paper I graduate this winter and will be working full time right after. I was wondering what EC's could supplement my CV since the 3 schools that focus on my best two year gpa are heavily EC oriented.

Hey guys, I was just wondering for those who got interviews at McGill: how competitive does ones CV have to be? I just finished my first year of Cegep and will be applying next cycle to Mcgill + Francophone schools. Academically R score in 38-39 range at the moment, but a lot will depend on next semester (over 50% of it because second semester won’t count due to COVID-19). My biggest worry is that my CV won’t be competitive. Unfortunately, I was planning on working and volunteering this summer but everything has been cancelled since COVID-19. Will the fact that most of my commitments ended in 2019 affect my application? My most recent experience would be an award in 2019 and a job during summer 2019, all I would have since then are things in the hobbies section/education sections. Additionally, for the verifiers, does anyone know how that process works? Also how many items should one have to be competitive? thanks a lot!

Hi guys, I am very new to this community, so sorry if this question has been asked before. I saw in many of your posts that students have publications (as leading or 2nd, 3rd authors) and conference papers which is really amazing. I wonder if anyone can provide some insights on how can undergrad get their research published. (i.e. is the published work done in summer or you have to stick to a project longer). Thank you so much in advance!!
