  1. Hey all, I was wondering if there has been any recent updates regarding whether U of T Dentistry will be using Winter 2020 grades as part of the GPA calculation? As well, does anyone know whether the decision made for U of T dentistry be the same as U of T med or are the two completely separate? Stay safe!
  2. Hey everyone! I'd love some insight on this. I may be selecting u of t and I live in Barrie Ontario. It's about an hour to 1.5 hour commute depending on traffic. Does anyone have insight to the schedule to suggest if this is a horrible idea??? Many students say they do less traditional studying than undergrad, and I think I could make it work. I'd love input from current students or those applying and maybe commuting!
  3. Looking for someone who wants to prep for u of t mpi interview over skype, or do in person prep in Richmond Hill. We can do mock interview, then switch roles. Pm me or comment if interested. Thanks
  4. Hi, I'm a bit confused regarding LORs for U of C vs U of A and U of T. According to U of C's manual they would like each of the 3 referees to speak to a different set of attributes. While for U of A and U of T, I understand its just 3 generic LORs? In that case, would the referees have to produce 2 different letters (one for U of C, and one for the other 2 schools) or would the letters made for U of C suffice for the other 2 schools as they combine to speak to a comprehensive list of attributes? I figure its a lot to ask the referees to produce 2 sets of LORs but would really appreciate

  6. Hello, successful UofT applicants! First of all, congrats! I’m sure the last few months of waiting weren’t the least stressful of your life but you’ve made it through. I’m presently an OT1 at UofT and also part of the O-Week Team for next September. With any luck, I’ll be an OT2 by the time you all join us in the Fall. I just wanted to open up this forum an opportunity for newly accepted OT students at UofT to get to know each other a little bit ahead of time and maybe answer a few questions (from a student’s perspective) along the way. After you have accepted your offer letter t

  8. Hi everyone, Hope everybody got good news on admissions day! I know the wait for results is nervewracking and deciding where to go (if you were lucky and got into more than one program) can also be difficult. I'm currently a student in the first year of the OT program at U of T and if anyone has any questions about the program, I'd be happy to answer. Also an FYI: I don't come from a science background, so if any non-traditional applicants have any questions/worries (I know that I did last year), I can definitely tell you more about what it's like to enter the program Congratulations to e

  10. Hey everyone, I got into U of T life science (trinity college) and McGill Biological, Biomedical and Life Sciences (as well as nursing but I don't think I will likely go into that program). I am waiting on UBC science but since I am in BC in a linear system, I won't get a decision until March/April. I also got into McMaster Life Science, Western's Medical Science, and SFU's biological science but I have decided against them...unless that was a big mistake and if it was please let me know. >.< I was thinking of doing a double major in Psychology/Immunology and physiology. Of
  11. Hi everyone! For anyone applying or have applied to the U of T MD/PhD program or who is/was a grad applicant, could anyone please provide any advice on how to format your academic CV? I know they posted guidelines, but I'm not sure if applicants should be following that exact layout. Alternatively, should we use our own CV format (e.g. add in our address, phone number like a traditional CV for the personal information section) and simply integrate the required headings? Thanks in advance!
  12. Hello. I was wondering how difficult it is to obtain a visiting elective at U of T? I recently applied through the AFMC Student Portal, but I wanted to know if I should apply for a backup elective (at another school) if things do not work out, but at the same time I do not want to be wasting money. I would appreciate some advice. Thanks!

  14. Hello everyone, I'm a Canadian finishing up my first year at a US dental school. While I do love my school, I'm planning to apply as a 2nd year transfer to U of T and UWO since it is so much less expensive than the American schools. Could anyone from UWO or U of T advise as to whether there are open spots in the class of 2018? Thanks in advance!
  15. Just a quick question, Are interview invites/rejections typically sent out as emails? Or would they be posted online (for instance, on Minerva for applicants to McGill)? I believe it would be by email, but just thought I'd check! Haha wouldn't want to miss that I am particularly wondering about U of T, UWO and McGill Thanks!
  16. Can anyone clarify this for me? - On U of T's website, they state that the mean GPA of accepted students during last year's cycle was 3.86 (which implies at least some of the class had GPA's of 3.86 or lower) - But based on what I'm reading on various forums here, it seems like people feel that even with a 3.90+ you aren't necessarily going to get an interview at U of T? Thoughts? I'm a little unsure now as to whether I have a chance (based on what people are saying in various forum topics) Thanks everyone!
