Hi everyone, This is my first time here on Premed 101 Forums. I'm a Canadian premed student who has been very concerned for the health and safety of examinees like myself who have and will be writing the MCAT during a pandemic. Our fellow peers who are immunocompromised are at a greater risk, however they have no choice but to put their lives at risk by writing the MCAT during these time. I myself am mainly worried about the health of an immediate family member with whom I live. The AAMC has not been cooperative enough to add more test dates in September or any in October, or to allow the

Hi everyone I am a grade 11 student in Alberta and I was wondering if there are any research opportunities I can take before I enter undergraduate studies. My desired university is the University of Alberta. Additionally, it would be very helpful if you guys could share any research or health related extracurriculars you guys did in high school. Thanks!

Hello! I figured a new thread should be started for the 2018 applicants/class of 2022s. Since this is about a month late, I'm sure you all know that the LOI and Pharmacist Consultation Form has been posted for this cycle, but here's the link anyways: https://www.cms.ualberta.ca/pharm/programs/undergraduate-bsc-in-pharmacy/prospective-student/admission-requirements. Best of luck to all, and I (and I'm sure other pharm students will bounce into this thread) am always willing to answer whatever questions I can!

Hey guys, i just wanted some advice on what i should do to increase my gpa. So i did abysmal my first two years in Uni with a 2.81 and 2.71. However, i switched my major into something i enjoy (bio science to Psych) and managed to pull my grades up this year drastically (on par to end the year with 3.7-3.74). Since i am entering my final year of my undergrad, would it be wise to take 2 required courses and 3 random courses to postpone graduation ( graduating after a fifth year) or should i just graduate then pursue a second undergrad. Only thing I'm concerned about is if there are an spe

Hey everyone on Premed101. I'm a member of the UofA DDS 2020 orientation week committee. Just heard the invites for interviews have started to go out, so we thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all the interviewees to set up rides, get information about the interview and maybe (because I know its what this page is for) compare scores. Good luck to all those invited, the class of 2020 will be helping at the interviews so I hope to see you all in March.

Hi UofA PT/OT students. It is not secret that accommodation is expensive in Edmonton. So I thought I could start a topic to share tips about renting and to look for roommates since most of us will probably be sharing. Do not hesitate to let us know if you find an affordable place. Plus it would be nice to get to know one another before school starts. .

I am just curious about the stats on the GPA & MCAT for accepted/interviewed rural applicants. Also does anyone have any idea roughly how many people apply that meet the rural applicant status? Lastly, I would appreciate if someone could give me a rough range of what GPA is needed for an interview? Is a 3.6 and 30/505 a decent min to get an interview? I appreciate any input!
