Admission 2021 MD UofOttawa
Dreamcatcheer posted a topic in Non-Traditional Applicants/Grad Students
Hi, I would have some questions for the admission in MD in the University of Ottawa. I am currently a university student in Quebec so I would like to apply in the French stream of the MD program next year. Our province was highly touched with Covid-19 so our universities gave us the right to apply to the Pass/Fail option in our winter 2020 classes. As mentioned in the admission criteria of UofOttawa, to be eligible, only one class Pass/Fail per semester is allowed. Is this rule still applicable with the circumstances of covid-19 for next year admissions? Also, I've changed programs-

Hi everyone! I have been accepted into PT at McMaster University and University of Ottawa. I was wondering if any current or past students from either school had any information about the programs? Specifically in terms of student life/experience, program difficulty, and any differences between the programs (besides the language difference). I'd be really happy to hear about people's experiences. Thanks in advance!

I am a high school student who is considering to accept Ryerson’s Biomedical Sciences program. I have been accepted to Western Health Sciences, Brock Medical Sciences (and their MedPlus extra program which is really good), Laurier Health Sciences, Uft Life Sci, Carleton Health Sci, and McMaster Life Sci. My major concerns involve the arrangement of the coop terms. Medical Schools in Canada require at least two school semesters to be consecutive for students enrolled into coop programs. In Ryerson, semesters 5 and 6 are separated by three work terms. I wanted to know if I would be a

I am having trouble picking between the Biomedical Sciences program at Guelph and the Biomedical Sciences program at Ottawa. Both of them seem to be great programs. So, any insight on them and how your experience has been would be very nice. Even if you can't provide a comparison, please explain to me the pros and cons of your experience, including how you felt in the city for either of the schools. Thank you very much for taking the time to help me.

At Guelph, the first year biology courses don't offer lab components. Does anyone know if they can still be accepted by Ottawa U and McGill med schools or if there are other courses at Guelph which they'll accept instead? I've tried emailing admissions officers and they've given really generic responses and I was hoping maybe someone knew from experience. By the way, I know someone already asked this question some years ago, but the replies didn't provide a really good answer and I thought maybe in the last few years some people have obtained better results. Thanks in advance!

Hello, The admission offer package states "The success of the current academic year, including having maintained your average; (your average must not be lower than the minimum WGPA cut off that was established according to your geographic status)". Does this apply for course-based Master's students? That is, would marks from graduate courses be considered to meet this condition? Thanks!

There isn't much information about the French Casper thread so I thought I'd start one. I'm guessing it's a lot more difficult than the english one since french is wordier and takes longer to type. How do you even prepare for this? Does anyone know how heavily uottawa evaluates spelling and grammar?

Hi everyone, UOttawa seems pretty discrete on how their interview looks like (unlike MMI's). All I know is that they are "traditional style" and most likely are panel interview. Would a nice soul describe to me concretely what their interviews look like? Are you alone in front of a panel or are you more than one person? Is it more than one panel? Do they ask strictly traditional-like questions (regarding medicine, leardership, health, ethical questions, personal experience), or they may ask some unexpected questions? How long does it last? Thank you! It's always more reassuring whe
