In my second year, I dropped the second semester and returned for the first semester of third year. So when medical schools say they will calculate your best 2 years or last 2 years, will my second year count as a full year? Or is it on the basis of credits? For example 4 credits = 1 year. Thanks!

I have a quick question, when most of you are saying "sGPA - 3.70 and cGPA - 3.54" how exactly are you calculating your GPA from grade percentages? For example, using the ORPAS conversation table, your average grade percentage would be roughly 80 - 84% for 3.7 and roughly 76 - 82% for the 3.5 gpa. I have roughly an 84% over my last 60 credits, would that put me at a 3.7 GPA? https://www.ouac.on.ca/guide/orpas-conversion-table/ Thanks in advance

Hello, Can someone tell me if Dal rounds your gpa to the nearest 10th from each year before calculating the average or is it just rounded after? For example, say I have a 3.88 one year and 3.97 the next year. Would the calculation be 1. (3.88+3.97) /2= 3.925 which is then rounded to 3.9 2. (3.9+4.0)/2=3.95 which is then rounded to 4.0 Thanks!

University Of Calgary Gpa Calculation
smy1622 posted a topic in University of Calgary Medical School
Hello, I'm currently in my 2nd year at the University of Alberta looking to apply to Calgary. I was wondering if anyone knew how their GPA calculation system operates? I read their manual and it states two full time years must be completed BY the time of application. Does this mean that you can only apply after you have completed your second year, since the credits are obtained after April, thus during your third year? Or can you apply during your second year so they look at your 1st/2nd year as you complete the application? Thank you -
Hey there fellow premeds! I hope you've had a great new year and a merry Christmas! I was also hoping to seek some help regarding the MCAT calculation and assessment under the Academic requirements. So their website states that 13 out of 70 points for their process for interview selection is dedicated to the individual's MCAT score. It can be found here: http://www.med.ualberta.ca/programs/md/admissions/applying/selection-process Also if we check the statistics for successful applicant pool for the class of 2018, the mean MCAT score is states as 11.59 for the 2/3 year pool. This can be

Hi all, I did my basic prerequisite courses in CEGEP, and with the way the CEGEP system works at my school, you can get a really good grade (34) with 75% if the average is low enough. I wonder how McGill calculates the GPA equivalent for that. Do they simply take your numerical grade and convert it using their alphabetic scale? Or do they look at the CRC instead? There would be a HUGE discrepancy between the two in my case... Thanks!
