Hi all! I'm trying to determine how to rank the affiliate campuses and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the ease and types of cardiology and/or cardiac surgery opportunities available at the Niagara and Waterloo campuses. I have some previous experience in these fields and so I want to focus on those, atleast at the beginning, if I'm lucky enough to be accepted this application cycle. Please help. I am an international med student from Bosnia and Herzegovina and final year. I want to apply for elective at McGill in June 2018, Cardiology, Oncology and Gastroenterology as my three choices, through AFMC. I want to know what are my chances in geting this? I would pay this by myself and I am not appying through my uni. I want to know this because if my chances are low, I can appy somewhere else.

So I have been hired as a summer research student at a hospital with a renowned cardiologist. I am helping a doctor with their clinical research (dry lab - data entry) alongside a team of summer students. The problem is I am not very interested in this specialization and the work is somewhat dull. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful to have gotten this job, gained a greater appreciation for the doctor's specialization and, I even get to shadow surgeries. I have learned a few things in terms of anatomy, procedural success and failure, etc. I understand that research can be slow and is repetitive
