Hey everyone! I'm in my 5th and final year at Carleton studying HBSc. Neuroscience and Mental Health. I'll be graduating this year with a 3.2-3.3 gpa. I was looking into doing a second undergrad degree that will last 2 years. I've applied to UTSC health policy but I'm also looking for some other programs that will last the 2 years and would be a bit easier to get a good gpa in, please let me know of any suggestions. Thanks in advance!!

Hello Everyone/Salut tout le monde! I am a Quebec university student who is graduating from undergrad this semester. I’m planning on applying to a DESS (Diplôme d’études supérieures spécialisées) program at Université de Montréal before applying to Medicine and Pharmacy next application cycle. For background, my current GPA is 3.73/4.3. I had a bit of a rough start to University, but it’s been consistently over 3.7 every year after my first, and it should be over 3.75 by the time I finish. Let's cut to the chase: I’m wondering if being part of a DESS program will significantly hurt m

Hello! I am currently going through a computer science undergrad degree (BTech) at BCIT and am interested in applying to med school after graduation. I was just wondering if my degree would be eligible since it's from a institute of technology? Has anyone gotten into med school from a technical school before? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks everyone :)

Hi all, I'm a 1st time poster who like some of you has been in university for quite some time now... I started out taking a BSc in 2011 (taking me 5 years) and received atrocious marks. I pushed through, graduated and took a year off to recollect. That year off has done WONDERS and I am now in my second year of nursing achieving about a 90% avg in my studies (still taking full credits every semester). I've enjoyed what nursing has offered me, however I wondered if there was any inkling of a chance of me getting into a med school. I searched through this website and found a forum (most rec

I am almost done my BSc in Biology however, I have an extremely low GPA around 2.33. Yes, I know that's terrible. I keep telling myself maybe I should choose a different path, but I just can't. I have been volunteering at the hospital for a few years now. I am not athletic and I have not been leading anything in particular. But I still want to be a doctor and now I am more mentally prepared then I was when I began initially. What can I do to increase my chances as an applicant?

Hi, I have some quick questions : Can you practice medicine after getting your MDCM degree ? What is the equivalent of the Med-P program at McGill in other universities? I was also wondering if it was better for example to do a Bachelor's degree in chemistry at McGill then transfer to UofT (or any other university) for med school, instead of doing Med-P at McGill and residency in another school. Also do you have to take.the MCAT at one point in the Med-P program? It's just that I don't understand the use of not doing it ; if you transfer to any other university, they wil

Has anyone gained entrance into McMaster without completing their 4th year of undergrad, in other words- gained admission with solely 90 credits ? Further, has anyone out there repetitively applied with solely the 3 years of undergrad and significant, health related workplace experience?

Hello everyone, I'm planning to do LifeSci Specialization at Queen's. I understand that it is relatively harder than lifesci major but I'm interested in the research portion of it so I'm thinking of giving it a go. In terms of med school, i know most schools don't care what degree etc. youre taking, but would the fact that youre doing a specialization make you stand out even just a little bit? Assuming specs, gpa etc. are even, would they rather pick a lifesci ssp student or a major student if they had to choose? Thanks

Hello, I am a first year undergraduate student with many questions regarding the process of being accepted into medical school. I am currently in first year general science courses and must declare my major next year. I understand that GPA is a major factor in all medical school applications, and that medical schools do not take the difficulty of particular programs into account when comparing the GPAs of applicants. I originally planned on entering life sciences, however, I have been told it will decrease my GPA and thus is not the best route. Is this true? If so, what is the recommended

I am kind of at the cross road with where the heck I should aim my course selections for graduate studies. I am doing a biology degree with a minor in neuro at the moment. I heard molecular biology has a lot of flexibility and a good salary. Does anybody have insight on good science fields to get into?
