  1. I know it doesnt really matter which undergrad you go to for med school but which health sci program is better and is "easier" How is the program structure at western and ottawa and which one is better to get a higher GPA in. What are all the pros and cons i hope some current students are able to answer :)
  2. Hello! I’m an incoming pre-med student and I’ve been accepted to both McGill’s Anatomy and Cell Biology program, and Queen’s Health Science program. I’ve been having difficulties choosing between the two because I love the Queen’s program, but I really dislike the idea of being in Kingston, ON and the general student body atmosphere. However, I still like the program at McGill, but I’m not as informed on it. As well, I deeply love Montreal and the people there. Any opinions/advice is welcome, what would you recommend as a pre-med student?
  3. Hey, Anyone in the Queens Health Sci program here? If yes, how do you like it? I heard it’s similar to McMaster’s Health Sci.
  4. Hi there. Im going to start grade 12 in September and Im looking into universities. I really want to go to medical school one day but I have concerns for my bachelors. I am a decent student, I get high 80's and sometimes 90's depending on the course. I think that If I apply to Health Sci, i'll have a better chance of getting in because Bio Med and Med Sci is sooo competitive. At the same time I worried it'll be a disadvantage to my learning if I take Health Sci! If I take Health Sci, will I still be able to go to medical school. The goal is to be a paediatrician or maybe even an anesthesiologist! thanks:)
  5. Hi, I am a high school student who wants to go to med school (yes, I know how corny this sounds), and I LIKE BOTH OF THESE COURSES EQUALLY and can't choose between them. So, I would like to know which course is easier to get a high GPA in, while also having time for ECs and completing prerequisites for med school. I have heard that in health sci you have to take med prerequisites as your electives (is that a hassle?), and you might not be as prepared for the MCAT as a biomed student (is this true?). Also, I have heard that biomedical science is harder, so to make it easier you can take health science electives. Out of both of these routes which one is better.
  6. I know that there is Western Medical Science which sends a lot of students to med other than health science, are there any other programs like these? I want to know this because I am in grade 12 and want to be a doctor. I want to take a bachelor's program which is science oriented while also giving me the best shot possible for med school. Most of time what I hear is that if you don't get into the two courses I mentioned your best choice will be to go to an easy university so you can still get a high GPA (rather than a life science program which are generally tough), like you would in health sci due to grade inflation, is all of this true? Finally, if it is true, what are some science based programs I can take at one of these easy universities like Guelph and York, while also having opportunities for extracurriculars and research at the university. I live in the GTA by the way.
  7. Hello Future Health Scis, A lot of the high school students have been asking me about the health sciences supplementary application. I made a quick video that will be helpful in approaching the three questions in the supp app: https://tinyurl.com/BHSc-supp-app. Feel free to email me anytime at hsci.channel@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like feedback on your supp app! GOOD LUCK! Or here: - BHSc Graduate, McMaster University
