Hello everyone! I am a Mexican physician whom was recently given his license, and was wondering how difficult it is to join the medical workforce in Canada. I have seen some information about different exams which I have to pass, but I also have many questions regarding the providence sponsorship program.

Hello all, I'm probably asking this question quite late but here goes because my exam is in two weeks. But here goes: I am an IMG 4th year in Ireland and am scheduled to write the QE1 in two weeks. I've been doing UWorld2CK questions since a lot of the blog's ive read have advised against canadaqbank. I did an MCC Practice Exam and saw that the questions are much much different than UWorld2CK. So since I have two weeks, I want to optimize my time and have a lot of content to cover. Could you please advise / share your thoughts on whether I should just practice

Hello! I've been researching about some doubts I have about the residency application / match in Canada and couldn't fully answer some of them due to the mixed info on the net. So, applying to multiple specialties will make it harder for me to get a match? Due to such practice being "ill seen", as the programs would not want an "undecided" candidate. What would be the best approach or strategy to increase the chance of a match? My best regards

Hey premed101, Seeing as how the CARMS situation for IMG's is getting increasingly bleak, I was wondering how a francophone studying in the Caribbean/Ireland/UK/Australia would fare getting a spot somewhere like Les Eskers, Les Aurores Boréales or Rouyn-Noranda. These programs are in the regular (not CMG) stream so I assume that IMG's could match there. They are also pretty small (4-8 spots) and never fill because they are located in small towns in Northern Quebec. Seeing as how they all had spots left after the second iteration (4 in Amos, 3 in Rouyn-Noranda and another 3 in La Sarre) ho

Okay I am wondering if it is ever worth going to the Caribbean? I believe I am able to get into school in Canada, and if not then the States as a DO for sure, but I am curious, is it ever worth it to go to the Caribbean? Like for example, if I wanted to become a family doctor would it be suitable as opposed to going there and then hoping to obtain a specialty. I am asking this because I love the Caribbean and although I want to live in Canada when I am older, I believe that I would love living in the Caribbean part-time for school. Please give me advice on this, especially if you go to a Carib

Hi there, I'm currently studying medicine in Ireland after not getting into an Ontario school. I applied for the 2014/2015 cycle and I got an interview for UofT and a rejection. Average MCAT - 10s GPA - 3.9 Clinical-heavy work ECs (hospital, clinic, nursing home, pharmacy), some university clubs and leadership positions Casual volunteering - also very clinical in nature No research I decided not to reapply for 2015/2016 and I started my first year in an Irish med school. Just really full of regret and really wanting to re-apply again this year even if it's just for my own p

Hi everyone! I was wondering about studying the mbbs degree in China. I did some research, and despite it being 6 years, it does have a low cost and I could actually apply to some reputable university with decent classes compared to Carib or Australia. But then again, I would have wasted the bachelors degree I am currently doing. I would not even mind working as a doctor in China, despite low pay and weird Chinese attitudes. I also know how to speak Mandarin fluently. Just wondering of your opinion on this
