Hey everyone, I recently received my QE1 score back and was shocked to receive a score of 233 (30th percentile). I have lots of elective experience (Urban FM, Rural FM, Respiratory Sub-I, Outpatient Cardiology, Outpatient General Internal Medicine in high risk groups, virtual general surgery and virtual plastic surgery) despite covid, I am recent graduate from an Irish medical school (class standing okay but nothing impressive), my other Canadian Board (NAC OSCE) was a Pass with Superior Performance, and have multiple published research papers (none first author however). Ideally, I’d like to match into IM, but because of my score I’m not even sure if FM programs will look favourably at me. I was wondering what other Canadian IMG applicants or current residents thought honestly of my chances of matching to any program in the country. Any input or advice to improve my application would be so helpful, not only to me but maybe other IMGs in a similar position as me. Thank you

Hi, I just received my results of LMCC1 of November 2020 session and I failed by 4 points! I am so devastated by the results. Should I go for result recheck? Any suggestions will be very helpful, please!

Hello all, I'm probably asking this question quite late but here goes because my exam is in two weeks. But here goes: I am an IMG 4th year in Ireland and am scheduled to write the QE1 in two weeks. I've been doing UWorld2CK questions since a lot of the blog's ive read have advised against canadaqbank. I did an MCC Practice Exam and saw that the questions are much much different than UWorld2CK. So since I have two weeks, I want to optimize my time and have a lot of content to cover. Could you please advise / share your thoughts on whether I should just practice questions with CanadaQBank, and not do anymore Uworld? I feel like maybe I'm wasting my time doing UWorld and maybe I should be doing CanadaQBank. Could you please advise? Thak you.

Hi Everyone, After moving to Canada 5 years ago, I have worked from research to government to hospitals. One year ago, I decided to get into residency and now I have matched. Lots of dedication, money and hard work went into it. Throughout my journey, I have taken notes and highlighted important aspects for residency. There is no one answer for how can I get in. It depends on the circumstances as well as the person. Resilience and perseverance pays in the end. I have seen a lot of people go through years (sometimes 8 to 10 years) of hard work sacrificing friends, family, health and finances. I feel that it should not come down to that. If you have specific questions that you would like to discuss, reach out to me on Telegram. I Am an IMG and graduated med school , 4 years back and am halfway through my residency in my home country(Pakistan). I recently took Step1 and landed a decent score and now im about to sit for Step 2 CK in June,2020. I am curious regarding the Canadian Residency Programmes .Someone kindly answer these queries and feel free to point out anything necessary that i havent asked in these questions: *Is it advisable to take MCCQE 1 exam within weeks of attempting my Step 2 Ck ?*Can MCCQE 1 be attempted in ones home country? *what is the next part after giving MCCQE 1? (PS : i have already done my IELTS academic with an overall 8.0 band with each band higher than 7.0) *Does one need to apply for Canadian immigration before giving MCCQE 1 or after it ? Does being ECFMG certified , help with residency in Canada?

Hi everyone I'm wondering when studying for the LMCC and using resources such as Uworld, do students typically buy their own subscriptions of this? Is it feasible to share? Not sure if the q bank is made in a way where sharing may be an option Thanks in advance!

I am currently a UofT resident and previous UofT medical school graduate. This year, I also got the opportunity to tutor some colleagues who were second-attempt takers for the MCCQE 1, and I was able to help them study for common types of questions that tend to repeat with each exam, confusing PHELO scenarios, and questions that might seem 'random' (but are not so random if you have clinical experience). I am familiar with the new format of the exam and will share all my study materials free of charge if I tutor you (these materials alone probably costs hundreds of dollars). My score was 293 (pass score 226). I have scored above average in all categories with highest performance in Psychosocial & Professional Behaviours sections. I find people tend to think the Professional behaviours questions are the most 'random' but I have a lot of clinical experience in public health/ethics so this was my strongest section. Rates: $80/hour ($50/hr per person if group tutoring 2+ students in 1 class) Available through Google Hangouts, Zoom, Phone call. Send me a DM if you're interested and we can chat about how I can best help you!

Hello Colleagues/Doctors - I am challenging MCCQE1 in July 2019. I am going through Toronto Notes and UWorld. I need help with following Questions: 1. Is Toronto Notes good enough for PHELO ? Or Should I go through AFMC PHELO Book ? 2. Can someone share High Yield notes or hand outs (English only) ? It will be a great help. 3. Also if someone can share sample MCCQE1 CDMs. Best of luck to everyone. Thanks
